Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre stay
We have visited Rafa Nadal tennis centre with our son. He really enjoyed the experience. His coach Enrique was jus emazing, paying attention to every detail and very personal touch. Maggy the coordinator extremely helpful and accommodating Would surely visit again. Facilities are also fantastic. Very well maintained courts, clean. All perfect

We have been coming here for 37 years , The Rafa nadal centre is a great new addition , Greta to see the familiar and friendly faces of Maggy and Tenea who as always are really helpful , the coaches Henrique and Gabby have made thr group lessons very enjoyable and are flexible and encouraging ! Manero bar at Don Carlos
We came to Manero Bar at Don Carlos Marbella for cocktails and wine and I have to say that is The Gem of the hotel. We’ve been served by Daniel, high class. Bold service, Amazing cocktails by Hugo. Great atmosphere. So far the best spot at the hotel, shout out to Manero!! first class spot. We will definitely come back 🫶🏼.
Great recommedation, beautiful hotel and friendly personnel
Truly 5 start experience for our family. Clean and beautiful interiors, friendly and kind stuff, nice heated outdoor pool and good restaurant for snacks. Gym was also good, tennis courts available, adult spa calm and beautiful. We we'll most definitely come back on summer time. Kids area was still under construction, but it didn't bother us. Breakfast excellent, huge recommendation for this resort.
Nice hotel, nice location but with several problems.
The hotel is very nice and positioned well in order to reach restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Advertised as 5 star and in many ways that would be correct BUT there are some important downfalls (at least to my wife and myself). Firstly, they do not have anywhere near enough staff. It is really noticeable at breakfast where the service (despite the marvellous efforts of those serving) is akin to a 3 star if that. Getting coffee takes an age and is given in a tiny cup. So you have to ask for more but no one around. For water I just go and take my own bottle now before Indie of thirst. And don’t get me started on the buffet. Yesterday there was a line of 10 people waiting for omelettes or whatever eggs of choice. I gave up. Today the same although if you go at 5 minutes before they close the buffet then there is more of a chance to get something cooked. The quality of choice of the buffet is poor for a 5 star. There is enough to eat of course even without cooked eggs but it is very limited. I don’t eat bread (as a diabetic) but I would have crackers. Problem is that there are none. So a limited buffet breakfast with limited staff (the manager confirmed that they only have staffing levels at 50%) yet we are paying 5 start prices. Now let’s move to the pool area. Not a chair to be found after 11am. I refuse to go out before breakfast and reserve chairs. I used to do that in my younger days but now I can pay for a 5 star service so I expect there to be options. Meantime, there are lovely gardens but no chairs provided to sit there. Then you have the “Beach Club”. It’s a nice area but where they simply have to play music very loud. Not sure why anyone over the age of 25 would want to sit there and indeed it is very sparsely populated. It would take the strain off of the main pool area if they could be more accommodating. Forgot to mention the second pool area where no one sits because the pool is freezing (the main pool is heated) and anyway the
A wonderful week at the Nadal Tennis Center
By chance we took our son for some private tennis lessons at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center at the Dan Carlos Hotel. It was so wonderful that a single lesson turned into a week of lessons and we met the most lovely people. Maggy greet you it makes you feel like a long lost friend or family member. She is cheerful, smart, lovely and so good at keeping the place smooth and efficient. Kíke is our son’s tennis coach. He’s amazing with kids. His intuitive very present and extremely generous with his knowledge and his training. But it’s much more than that. It’s very hard to describe how great this place is. I’d be happy to come here every day and just have a coffee and take the atmosphere. This is truly been one of the highlights of our trip this year and we really look forward to coming back later this year again. Maggy, Kíke, David and everybody at the Nadal Tennis Center are great.
Spa
My friend and I came out for the weekend at the last minute. Weather wasn’t great unfortunately, so we booked a spa afternoon. Wow! The team at the spa were so helpful and efficient. Our treatment were first class (tailored full body massage, reflexology and indian head massage), probably the best treatments we have ever had! Highly recommend. Huge thank you to our spa therapists Sonia & Glenda, we hope to be back very soon!

Padel Court Experience
We had an amazing time at this padel court! We came as a group of three and had so much fun playing together. The court was in great condition, the atmosphere was super relaxed, and everything was well organized. Perfect spot to enjoy some competitive but fun matches with friends. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely love this hotel. So much so, we couldn’t wait to come back again, five months later. We last visited at the end of last season in October and have returned at the start of this season in March. Catching up with the best team at the Don Carlos hotel is like reuniting with dear friends. Most of whom have also just returned from their off-season breaks. We received the warmest welcome from everyone. Patricia from guest experiences and Luz from breakfast are so cheery and helpful each morning. The best poolside team, Nahuel, Facundo, Paul the barman, the life guard and all the guys at the poolside restaurant, Sol y Sombra. We were thrilled with a room upgrade to an amazing spa suite with south facing ocean views! The spa is definitely worth a visit to relax the body and mind. It is fully equipped and a bliss experience. A facial with Sonia comes with the highest recommendations. Wow, such a wonderful experience. It is clear she is highly skilled, with a wealth of knowledge to create a fully holistic experience that your body and skin will thank you for. I had an Inhibit facial, chosen by Hollywood stars prior to the Oscars! We have thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful upgrades the hotel has made since our last trip. The welcome sweet treats and champagne for guests at check-in and the expansion of the Manero bar. The Manero bar is set in a beautiful courtyard. Such a wonderful setting, it is truly an oasis within an oasis. Thoughtful landscaped and elegantly furnished. We recommend going for lunch and allowing Francesco to design you a mini tasting menu, showcasing the local region’s finest cuisine. Big shoutouts to the rest of the Manero team who take pride in making all their guests have a wonderful experience: Alpredo (another familiar face from last season), Mila, Ester and Patricia. A great return to my favorite hideaway in Marbella
First things first: this is not a sponsored or "bought" 5-star review, but a genuine account of a long-time returning guest. Having frequented the Don Carlos Resort and The Oasis for years, I was deeply saddened by its long closure for renovations. However, returning this March 2026, I can safely say it was worth the wait. The transformation is a complete success. The rooms are more beautiful than ever, balancing luxury with comfort. The redesigned lobby is an absolute dream, and the hotel bar has evolved into a modern masterpiece—it's the perfect "jewelry box" of the resort. What impressed me most wasn't the new paint or furniture, but the fact that the hotel managed to retain its wonderful staff after such a long hiatus. Seeing those familiar faces again is what creates that special "Don Carlos charm." The warm, genuine, and "refreshingly normal" way the staff interacts with guests is unique in the world of luxury hospitality. It’s a heartfelt togetherness that makes you feel at home rather than just another booking number. After all these years, the Don Carlos remains my number one destination for perfect service in a first-class ambiance. It has successfully preserved its soul while modernizing its look. The only downside to mention is the significant price increase following the renovation. While the rates now align with high-end international standards, it is certainly an investment. We booked a paddle court for an hour. The staff were very helpful and welcoming..The facilities were excellent and nothing was any problem for them, especially Maggie who explained everything and showed us around. Great facilities and great staff!
Tennis Facilities
Have played Tennis regularly over the winter here, good facilities and well kept clay courts. Prices have gone up ridiculously recently, totally out of sync to other comparable nearby clubs. Up to 4 times more expensive to rent a court!! So, I give 4 stars to the club and the 5th is for the staff. I regularly dealt with Maggie who I’ve always found to be very professional, warm and attentive!
Padel lesson at Rafa nadal centre
I came to the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre and it was a brilliant experience from start to finish. Maggy was fantastic in helping me book a lesson and tailoring it to exactly what I was looking for. The lesson itself was excellent - David was a great coach and I learned so much in a short space of time. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Marbella, whether you’re a beginner or already play regularly.
What an amazing team.
We had a fantastic stay at the Don Carlos Hotel. The property has been recently upgraded and everything about it is completely on point – from the beautiful rooms to the pools and overall facilities. What really makes this hotel really special, however, is the staff. A very sincere thank you to the “Guest Relations Team” and all the other staff in the hotel. They are without doubt the best part of the experience. The service was exceptional and nothing was ever a problem for them.
Unforgettable experience
Wonderful hotel and very high quality service! I had such a great experience at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre in Marbella ! The atmosphere is so welcoming (thank you Maggy), the facilities are fantastic, and the coaching was truly top-level. Special thanks to David, who brilliantly managed to fix my very original one-hand backhand. 🙂 The tips I got made an immediate difference, and the sessions felt fun, motivating, and super professional! "Under the ball" will definitely stay with me! 🙂 It’s a place that makes you want to come back, and that says everything.
Tennis at Don Carlos
My husband and I just returned from a week at Rafa Nadal’s Tennis Academy at the Don Carlos Resort in Marbella, Spain. We highly recommend the facility and coaching. David was our instructor for most of the week but we also had lessons from Yohan and Enrique. The coaching staff are excellent. The two hour lessons were fast-paced and challenging and a lot of fun. The coaches had high expectations and sequenced the lessons to build on previous learning. The facilities are beautiful and the clay is perfect. The fitness are is spacious and fully equipped. Shout out to all of the welcoming reception staff including Maggy and Roman.
First impressions at check in great but experience throughout the stay was disappointing
Having stayed at the Beachhouse 2 years previous we decided to try the Don Carlos thinking there would be more dining options for lunch or snacks so we didn’t have to leave the hotel however we were wrong. Dinner in the restaurant on our first evening was incredible, the food the view and the staff were exceptional. The lunchtime options however were snacks around the pool which may have worked if there had been enough staff to meet the demand of everyone around the pool. One day I waited over 30 mins to try and catch someone just to get some water, I went to the bar and the said they’d send someone over, I waited another 10 mins then went back to the bar as I was so dehydrated and they eventually gave me a drink. This was the same daily trying to get drinks around the pool area was a nightmare. Due to this we had to go into the poolside restaurant daily for food which wasn’t that successful either. Day 1 I was brought the wrong drink but that wasnt an issue, day 2 I was brought the wrong drink and wrong meal meaning I waited 30 mins after my husband had finished before my correct meal was brought out. Day 3 my husband got the wrong meal and it was replaced quickly but with a meal completely covered in onions which was the one request he made when he ordered his lunch, no onions. The staff throughout the hotel are great, always cheerful and helpful that was the most positive part of our stay. The location is also good but in comparison to the experience we had at the beachhouse for a similar cost there is no comparison at all. The service, atmosphere and service at the beach house are second to none, something to consider before booking a short break at the Don Carlos.
Incredible experience but one area tops everything else
I have to say that I have been highly impressed with the remodel that this hotel has done. It has a modern and sophisticated feel to it. All the staff is extremely kind and professional but there is one area that overcomes the rest in my opinion which is the pastry-dessert section. From the welcome chocolate and orange ice cream, room amenities, coffee cookies...and the night time desserts are out of this world. I feel that they are much more elaborated, redefined, modern, Michelin star presentations with an explosion of deep and wonderful flavors. My favorite is the mango and passion fruit dessert...Probably the best I have seen in any 5 star hotels and many Michelin star restaurants. I have stayed here several times and this is for sure an area that I feel the hotel has elevated the experience to a point that I would come back just for it. Congrats
It couldn't get any better.
I stayed in the Don Carlos hotel for 3 weeks 3 years ago. They couldn't do enough to help you. I returned to the Rafa Nadal academy for some training this week and it's still as friendly, efficient and professional as ever. Maggie was there with her usual smile to welcome you. They coaches were amazing, tailoring the advice given according to your game. I highly recommend this academy and hotel.
Friendly and relaxed with excellent service
We stayed at Don Carlos Marbella for a week in Feb-March 2026 as a family of 5. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and team members went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The heated pool is wonderful - even though the weather wasn't that warm we could still swim daily, and the views are lovely. Our room was quiet, clean, housekeeping service excellent, beds were the best I've slept in for a long time! Plenty of restaurants and things to do in short driving distance. Hotel restaurant also served great food, including a nice kids menu. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we leave feeling super relaxed and wanting to come back!

4-Day Birthday stay
My husband and I spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel...we didn't want to leave! Our suite in building 4 was beautiful and enormous. We had a really nice view of the ocean and the terrace was almost the same size as the room. Our suite was spotless (which is always my main concern). All staff was great and no request was too difficult. They even offered us free use of their Mini Cooper when our tour of Gibraltar was cancelled (due to weather). Breakfast was included and was the highlight of our day. The restaurant was beautiful and had a really nice view. I spent an hour there each day. Other positives: my husband took a tennis lesson at the Rafa Nadal tennis center and enjoyed it, the hotel sent me a huge bouquet of sunflowers on my birthday, the beach was a convenient 5 minute walk, and we went in the off season so things were quiet, which was nice. A few small suggestions for the hotel: our suite had just one trashcan in the bathroom, which wasn't too convenient. One in each room would be nice. I also suggest more vegan options for the room service menu (we ordered 3 out of our 4 nights there). I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Don Carlos again!
Not happy at all…
I’ve been playing tennis in Marbella for many years, regularly visiting clubs like Puente Romano Beach Resort, Los Monteros Spa & Golf Resort, and especially the tennis club at Hotel Don Carlos especially now since it is part of the Rafa Nadal Academy. Don Carlos has always been my favorite club because of the quality of the courts, the reception staff and the coaches on court, they have always been excellent, friendly, professional, and welcoming. The atmosphere and quality of the facilities made it a pleasure to play here year after year. However, this year the management has been a real disappointment. Court pricing is completely inconsistent and chaotic, it looks a market where you play with the prices.... A few months ago I paid one price, the website shows a different one, the club gives another price when you arrive and Playtomic shows another... Prices seem to change constantly, like a market, and it’s impossible to understand what the real cost is. It’s a real shame, because the staff and the tennis experience itself are still great but the management and pricing system seriously damage what used to be the best tennis club experience in the area... I will have to think twice next time i will like to play

Wellness, Sport & Hospitality at Its Best
Don Carlos has truly become a paradise on earth and not just for tennis lovers! I passed by last year while it was still under construction, and the transformation is amazing. With tennis courts, a gym, a pool, and other leisure activities, it’s now an incredible place to spend time. Given the weather, Maggie recommended that my girlfriend and I go to the gym, and we were very impressed with the facilities. The equipment was modern and well-maintained, the staff were courteous and professional, and Maggie was especially welcoming; she made our visit a truly great experience. Needless to say, we will definitely be back!

Super impressed with the new Don Carlos. Was looking forward to its opening and it was definitely worth the wait. So far, due to the weather, I was only able to try the check. Many thanks to Magda for advising me to try out the gym, she was very very friendly and knowledgeable on what equipment is available. The place gained a new member, thanks again!
Great Place - I will be back!
Only three days on a short break to Marbella and was curious about the Don Carlos as i had friends stay there previously. The hotel was just renovated and was beautiful. We stayed in a Junior Suite with Sea View and while it was a little grey in January it was nice to wake up with a Sea View - not something every hotel offers in Mykonos. The gym equipment was state of the art and the pools heated which meant a little rain didnt worry us. The property had really spacious gardens that went directly down to the beach also. Would love to go back a little later in the year.
The big mistake
In the past we had lunch many times with our company at the terrace by the swimming pool. It was wonderfull. Now after the rénovation the put plants between the testaurant and the pool. .you don't see the sea, the trèes or the pool anymore. Hotel Don Carlos is the best hotel in Marbella, Costa Del Sol. Great location, beautiful garden, a private beach, swimming pools, tennis sport club, and the best on-site spa. The property has a bar in small garden next to the lobby, a restaurant with an open terrace for breakfast and dinner service, and a poolside restaurant operating during daytime hours. An additional restaurant is scheduled to open in January-February 2026, with construction currently underway. The beach club is getting a makeover after this year's feedback! 🏖️ I saw the demolition start myself on December 1st, and the renovation is coming along impressively. We are coming to this hotel for many years and we are particularly impressed with the recent comprehensive renovation. The hotel now presents an even more aesthetically pleasing and inviting ambiance. All guest rooms have undergone a complete refurbishment, featuring a serene and contemporary design. The bathroom fixtures are of high quality and are complemented by an excellent selection of amenities. The breakfast area is exceptionally well-appointed, boasting an open terrace. The ambient music throughout the hotel is consistently smooth, easy-listening, and contributes significantly to a pleasant atmosphere. The food service is outstanding, offering a diverse and delicious culinary selection. The attentive and skilled waitstaff and chefs are adept at accommodating individual preferences and dietary requirements, including allergy awareness. The accommodations are remarkably quiet and impeccably clean. The fresh, pristine towels and crisp linens significantly enhance the comfort of our stay. We thoroughly enjoy our stays here; the atmosphere is remarkably pleasant and tranquil. Despite the proximity of the children's club to the pool, its thoughtful placement ensures minimal disruption, as children's activities are contained.
