+ La personnes qui m’a reçu très agréable Par contre des toiles et des araignées partout dans la chambre La piscine l’eau est vert impossible de se baigner Petit déjeuner correct

+ Bon séjour au gîte du calme. Mais je trouve dommage de ne pas avoir vu la propriétaire. Ni à mon arrivée ni à mon départ. En gîte pour la première fois j’aurais aimé avoir plus de renseignements. Surtout au petit déjeuner. Mais pas important. Le gîte porte bien son nom. Le gîte du calme est vraiment calme et reposant.

+ Goedkoop en daarbij is alles gezegd. Veel insecten, spinnenweb, vochtig (handdoeken met slechte geur). Niemand bij aankomst en bij vertrek. Geen werkende internet. Slecht ontbijt (droog brood, jam potten bijna leeg, kaas vloot ook bijna leeg, 3 appelsienen voor fruitsap voor 2 personen). Zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar

+ merci pour le conseil des fermes charentaises ou nous avons pu nous régaler pour le déjeuner ; cependant , nous étions déçus par le petit déjeuner ( pain et croissant pas frais ) et par le lit inconfortable ( on sentait les ressorts )

+ Nice and friendly hostess. More a BnB than a hotel. Basic breakfast included.

Gite de Calme- is just that Calm

+ Gite de Calme aptly named it is just that, peaceful,location, very warm welcome set in Charente countryside, easy access for Cognac, Saints Comfortable spacious gite, well equpped Wifi was a bit hit and miss

+ Excellent property, comfortable room, lovely area. The owner was very helpful when we hit a bump with the reservation. She also recommended a place for dinner that we thoroughly enjoyed.

A little gem

+ This is a fantastic place to stay! We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 year old son and 2 dogs and could not have been made to feel more welcome. The room was lovely with all sorts of toys for our little one to play with and tea/coffee for us. Breakfast was included and lovely. The location is peaceful and yet within easy reach of cognac. We would definitely return and would highly recommend to anyone!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

+ You will love this Gite!. Our room was at the to of the stairs, it was charming and comfortable with a large private bathroom. The stairs are steep and can be challenging, but worth three climb. Julia is an excellent hostess. She made us feel welcome and at home. Her place has a good vibe and it is so nice to wake up in the morning in a mix of forest and grape vines (Cognac about 15 kilometers away). Our breakfast was a mix of breakfast trifle (a dish from Julia's British roots), hearty homemade bread and homemade jams from her fruit trees, delicious yogurts and coffee and tea. I'm coming back Julia and Daisy! XO Sandra and Doran

+ Wonderful hospitality and spot! We enjoyed our stay in the family room and our delicious breakfast. Went for a fantastic walk in the enchanting woods nearby.

Best stay of our trip!! Better than 5 star hotel

+ Without a doubt this was the best bargain in France. In the first place Julia is lovely. What an amazing host. You want dinner - there it is. You want to know about the area - she will tell you. You need anything - there she is. In the second place the Gite has lovely grounds that you just imagine you are a lord or something in a different era. Thirdly the rooms are spacious and comfortable with all amenities. And WIFI is everywhere. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and not been any where near as satisfied. And all for so little cost. You have got to be kidding. Will definitely be back when in area. Bravo.

A unique gem which surpassed every expectations!

+ A unique little gem of a b&q which surpassed every expectation! With just a few rooms on site, but very nicely presented throughout we had a wonderful stopover on our way down to Bordeaux. Although we had a very late check in due to a long journey down, we were warmly welcomed by our host (an English expat and her family) and shown to our room which was not only incredibly comfy but also backed on to a faboulus large and tranquil garden with a swimming pool area and lots of space for our little dog to explore and play. The homemade breakfast in the morning was exceptional, and our host did everything she could and more to make us feel not only welcome, but also incredible at home! The large kitchen and living area available for the guests to use is also a huge bonus! My only regret is that we did not have more time to stay on; but we will be back to explore area further! Wonderful place!

Excellent family accomodation

+ Room was lovely as was the dining area and lounge. Julia was a superb host and made us most welcome. She went to extraordinary lengths to try and print our boarding passes when we had been unable to do so. She also makes a fine chocolate cake. Highly recommended!
