Hôtel le Romanesque

Décevant…

+ Bien que bien placé en cœur de Cannes, cet hôtel manque terriblement de professionnalisme. A mon arrivée, j’ai du attendre 20 min qu’une personne vienne ouvrir l’établissement et s’occuper de moi. Ensuite la douche était complètement bouchée, j’ai dû moi-même enlever les filtres de la bonde pour permettre l’écoulement de l’eau. Évier pas propre…..Inacceptable.

+ La struttura non vale le tre stelle e non sembra neppure un hotel. La reception è una scrivania in un sottoscala e quasi mai si trova personale presente: per parlare con qualcuno bisogna telefonare o suonare un citofono. La pulizia è terribile: moquette vecchia e molto sporca, polvere ovunque, ciuffi di capelli in giro per la stanza. Il bagno non è separato dal letto: ai piedi del letto si trovano la doccia (molto piccola) ed un lavabo. Il wc è in uno stanzino. Uno dei cuscini aveva macchie di muffa o similari. Non esistono spazi comuni, e non c’è neanche un distributore di acqua, caffè o bibite. Ovviamente non c’è la colazione. Arredo vecchio e spartano. Muri molto sottili e nessun isolamento acustico: si sente tutto quello che fanno i vicini. Non sembra un hotel

+ Per 1-3 notti a Cannes è ideale( vicino ai negozi, passeggiata, ristoranti).

+ Vi bestämde oss i sista sekund för att stanna och tog såklart det billigaste alternativet eftersom det bara blev en natt. Vi hade inga förväntningar alls pga priset men blev positivt överraskade av rummet. Jätte fräscht rum med modern inredning. Hotellet hade jättebra förbindelser och ligger på en bra plats. Inte nog med detta så var personalen helt fantastisk. Det enda negativa var att duschen låg öppet i ett hörn på rummet utan riktiga väggar. Det var också väldigt lyhört så om man är ljudkänslig kanske detta inte är något för dig.

+ L'Hotel si trova nel pieno centro di Cannes. La struttura, la camera e il relativo bagno sono pulite. La stanza è di piccole dimensioni. La receptionist è cordiale. La reception è attiva solo per il check-in; l'accesso alla struttura e alla camera avviene con codice.

+ Hôtel super bien situé , mais inaccessible avant 16h car personne et à 16h il fait encore attendre !donc si vous arrivez avant vous êtes bloqués !! Sinon la mer est à 5 min et toutes les Commodites aussi c est super !!

+ Poor communication, front door is always open, extremely dirty, right under clubs and pubs, very noisy and loud till 4/5am. No privacy in bathroom at all, open shower and tub. Only positive thing, is that it’s centrally located where everything is walkable. Spend a few extra euros and stay elsewhere. Thank me later.

+ This a really convenient hotel to get around Cannes. You can walk everywhere. Not all rooms have showers (some have baths). Be really specific when you book the room, mine did not have any wardrobes! If you are looking for a quiet area, this is not the place, it's right in the middle of the action - which makes it really accessible. The Brown Sugar bar is great.

Disappointing service

+ We intended to travel to Cannes at the end of September. But literally as we reached bag drop at Dublin Airport we received a notification that our flight was cancelled due to the inductrial strikes in France. There was nothing we could do except cancel our reservation at Hotel le Romanesque.I understand that most hotels have a cancellation policy whereby the fee is taken if the reservation is cancelled within 24 hours of arrival. However, on this occasion it was completely outside of our control. We simply asked for some empathy and understanding from the hotel. We also would have been grateful for a voucher to visit the hotel on another occasion if a refund was not possible.Instead, the hotel totally ignored all emails from us. A small bit of courtesy and decency is not too much to ask for. I normally try not to be too criticial when posting reviews on TA. But my experience of this hotel is not encouraging for others who may be thinking of booking.

+ I checked in but couldn't stay there, I had to book another hotel elsewhere. Room was smelly and no staff on site to report. It's the worse hotel I have ever seen, never ever would I have been able to stsy there.

+ The location was great. Near the beach stores and restaurants. There was no hotel staff on site. They failed to send the entry code and room number in advance do it took two calls and trr we o hours to get in. The room was spare but comfy. The bathroom good.

+ The hotel is in a brilliant position. Great if you want to walk to the beach or to restaurants. Only book here if you are a night person and love to be in the centre of everything. The rooms are nice and clean but there is no reception - so if there is something wrong, there is no-one there to fix it. For me it was perfect but it won't be good for families.

Dirty hotel - not recommended

+ Very dirty hotel, very noisy, I am almost frozen because the heating is of poor quality, the bed was dirty and the mattress used up. there were no duvets, just a woolen blanket. no service available. I wonder where the hotel got such good reviews from (have they bought them? because it was probably one of the worst hotel experiences I had).

VEry Good location - Average amenities

+ We stayed in this hotel as replacement to the Lux apartment we booked from the same owners, as they suggested the hotel instead due to proximity to the parking (we arrived to Cannes by car and parking garage was a must for us). We accepted the proposal for the same price as apartment. Location was perfect - walking distance to all Cannes attractions. Room was clean, but located on the 3rd floor - no elevator of course. The staff was very friendly, speaking good English, gave us all recommendations about restaurants, boat schedules etc. The room was very quiet with perfect sound proofing from the street sounds. The air conditioner was quiet as well and well adjusted. The only surprise - the bathtub was in the same room as the bed without any curtain! That was inconvenient as the it was hard to keep water from the shower hitting the floor. For some people it could be also major inconvenience because there was no privacy when taking a bath :) Fortunately the toilet was in the separate cabin :) Our suggestion to the owners - set the simple curtain onto the bathtub, please.The simple continental breakfast was suggested for separate price, but we opted to one of the many brasseries in the area.There was perfect restaurant New York - New York suggested by the staff - 5 min walk from the hotel - just across the Palace of Festivals. Perfect place to have dinner - very popular, always full - with good chef.

Quirky hotel

+ I've stayed in this hotel for business back in December. The location is great, very close to the Cannes exhibition center which was perfect for me. Rooms are all different in shape, decoration etc. Let's just say, the deco is super quirky no matter which room you get! Staff are very helpful, they can easily help organizing taxis and all. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable. It is just the minimum you would expect in the room but was enough for my visit. You can choose to have breakfast there but there are so many nice bistro and brasseries around that I didn't take this option.

No way!!!!

+ the hotel is very old, without a lift, so very unconfortable for a family with kids!!!and no reception after 5 pm Dirty dirty room and too small and the bed is not comfortable Only location is good...

a really good stay

+ me and my wife stayed there in september and we loved our stay, nice people and really helpfull staff, it is well located in the center of cannes and close to all amenities, lots of restaurants and the seafront is three minutes walk from there, I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice little place with no blablabla in the expensive city of cannes

A great hotel for couples

+ I stay in Cannes very often and always try to book in to this hotel. With quirky rooms that are romantically themed this is an excellent hotel for a weekend away with your partner. Each room is individually decorated and we have now stayed in most of them. Its hard to say which we preferred as they all had there good points. Although the room with the balcony is exceptionally nice.To add to the fun rooms the staff here are also extremely friendly and help make the stay even better. Add this to being very reasonably priced and you can see why we keep coming back to this hotel.

excellent location

+ I liked this hotel even if the room was black, yes everything was black in it :)) It was small but cozy, with a nice bathroom but the location was the best. I would definitely stay here again. The staff was very friendly and I fell in love again with Cannes.

good quality for price

+ Romanesque hotel is ideall located in cannes. 5 min walk from train station, 20 sec from front beach and 20 sec from main center street. Easy access. Breakfast offer if required. I paid 47 euros a night. Beat this in center of Cannes you get a crappy one in train station. it is nice and kinda of Boutique hotel style. Different rooms with different decoration. I tried it long time ago and last week end (jan2014). it is getting older. No real service there but no need. Carpet. + location , price, - noise coming from small walls between room and outdoor trendy bar music

Nice hotel with a friendly stuff and Exelant location

+ we've stayed there 3 days. The personal in the hotel was very helpful. The manager himself came to meet us outside and leaded us to the parking (we came by car). The rooms are comfortable, clean and have a nice design. 5 min of walk and you are directly at the beach (the one which is for free). The timing of check-in you can always discuss with a manager. He also give you the access-card to the car parking (25 euro per day) in a walk distance from the Hotel.

Terrible

+ Nothing positive in this hotel except the location. it is not direct on the le croissin but it is 5 minutes walking. The shisha bar beside it is another good thing! the hotel is old, no lift, no reception after 5 pm! it is not really a hotel it is a hostel. the bath tub is outside the bathroom (beside the bed)!!!! the bed is not comfortable at all and the noise from the street is until the morning! I don't want to stay here again.

Disappointing

+ We booked this hotel after reading good reviews but it obviously depends which room you are in. Our room was named "Charlotte" and on first appearance it looked very nice. However, the bathroom, although spacious, had a flat glass roof and therefore got baking hot in the sun. It rained all night once and the noise on the glass roof was deafening. The half size bath was ok but there was no fixed shower and was therefore messy when using hand-held shower. The toilet had no air vent and you had to bend down to enter it through a very creaky door! Although in a good location for everything, the street noise from nearby bars caused us sleepless nights, especially when guests came home at 4am. Breakfast good but pricy. Off-putting when you had to be down at allotted time every day. Definitely would not return here.

Luxury at its Best

+ Hotel le Romanesque located in the heart of the city, is the best place to experience luxury in true sense. I have recently returned from this place and feel to have been blessed to have the opportunity of staying at this wonderful hotel. It was really a special experience, from the moment we entered the hotel to the time we departed from the place. Rooms, services, food, everything was best. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone who visits the city.

Perfect location,unique,clean,great price,friendly!

+ I will start by saying I will definitely stay here again! In the perfect location to walk around everywhere and be on the door step of the coolest places. The hotel is very unique, I stayed in Charlotte, each room has a name. It has the coolest decor and a very funky bathroom in a bit if a conservatory style with sun beaming onto the stand alone bathtub. I am very impressed by this little hidden gem. The style is just wonderful and the price is great. Having stayed in many 5 star hotels in Cannes over the years, this actually has been most enjoyable. Friendly, cool, relaxed, unique. My little girl Amira (my little dog) also had a fabulous stay! Looking forward to visiting soon and trying a different room!

Fantastic place for after a night out in Cannes, or for a romantic couple

+ Taking a cab back to Monaco from Cannes costs two to even three times the price of a night in this hotel, certainly in the low season. So I spend two times the night here in the last three months .... and each time I got an upgrade to one of their most splendid rooms. Mind you, it is located in the heart of the party district of Cannes, so if you are actually coming to sleep early, be sure to get a room on the backside. It has only about 10 rooms I think, but each one is carefully individually designed with lots of style and grace, very well done, very cosy. Beautifull furniture, good bedding, even quite romantic in most of the rooms. Also you really have to know upfront that there is really no separation at all between the bedroom and bathroom ... it is just one big room, but stylish. Luckily the toilet has walls around it, and a door. But I love it. Only one negative point is that there is no soundproof walls between the rooms, so you really hear everything what the neighbours ... are doing.

Heart of Cannes

+ Very hospitable owners. In a very good location, Hotel Le Romanesque is in the heart of Cannes. Close to the shops, restaurants and the sea ... you can't go wrong. The rooms are very lovely and boutique like. A very comfortable stay! All the rooms in the hotel are themed and we were very happy with the decor in ours. The room had much needed air conditioning and was clean.

Cute place

+ • Very hospitable owners. • Small room and what they said in all of the reviews was accurate – the bath in the room was a bit odd but we survived. • Unfortunately it was very noisy as it is above/near the busy nightlife in Cannes and we went from a Thursday-Sunday. • Thin walls and little/no soundproofing in this older building. • Unfortunately when the room was cleaned we may have lost some stuff that wasn’t rubbish but that could be an honest mistake so no biggie. • Convenient location though and with Cannes being relatively small everything was a short walk away. Monoprix supermarket opposite the train station (10min walk away). Couldn’t find a self-service laundry other than in the old Cannes town (too far to walk with laundry). • The American diner across the road does an awesome chicken burger and fries combo for EUR13 if that’s to your liking – good burgers are hard to find in Europe. Good cheap kebab eatery (the green one) next to the markets on the way to the train station. • The beach in front was a huge let down with only 2 small sections at the ends not private and popular with the older, topless beachgoers… take a walk past the old town and the beaches are beautiful and free – pity we didn’t know about that earlier! The asking price for 2 loungers + umbrella was again up to EUR80 for the day!?!? I thought I was seeing things, maybe I was… • The Cannes film festival building was also a let-down as it was closed due to some other event.

Cute & Boutique Hotel

+ In a very good location, Hotel Le Romanesque is in the heart of Cannes. Close to the shops, restaurants and the sea ... you can't go wrong. The rooms are very lovely and boutique like. A very comfortable stay! Breakfast wasn't included when my partner and I stayed there. Unfortunately, the staff didn't notify us f this and we were charged 48€ extra, although we were only there two nights. For the amount they charge, breakfast should be complimentary.

A lucky find!

+ After viewing quite a few rooms in the area we found Le Romanesque by pure chance. Priced slightly higher than most of the other smaller hotels although it was completely worth it. We arrived to a lovely welcome from the female owner who was attentive and friendly.The room itself was charming in character and had a beautiful bathroom with big windows to give a sky view. The room had much needed air conditioning and was clean. All the rooms in the hotel are themed and we were very happy with the decor in ours. It's exactly what was needed, theres nothing worse than being on holiday and being put up in poor accomdation that is over priced, one might as well stay at home.The only slight negative if any would be our German neighbour who came back at 4am and had a ten minute wee which we could hear. All in all we had a good experience at this hotel and praise the creativeness of the owners, they cleary are there to provide holiday makers with a good experience.

perfect location

+ If your expectation is location and if you want to be just in the heart of the city when you step out from the maindoor of the hotel, then do not hesitate..It's on the parallel street to la croisette and just 50 meters away..The rooms are small, there is no service,,,but place to sleep..it's perfect due to it's location..
