La Résidence - Arles

+ The apartment is very spacious. We didn’t cook in but the kitchen has everything that you would need. It was within easy walking distance to all the highlights of the area The parking that was supplied is very close. Definitely book it.

+ Had to walk up 3 flights of circular stairs to get to the room. Another flight to get to the terrace. Bed uncomfortable. Terrace was nice. Kitchen very small. Great location.

+ Our room was large and comfortable, complete with kitchen and full bathroom. The wifi was spotty the last two days of our stay which made it a bit frustrating for confirming our next stay at a different town. We also didn't hear from the hotel when we emailed them about our air-conditioner blowing hot air but we were helped a few days later by a staff member. Besides these two concerns, our overall experience was a very good one.

Une perle !

+ La Résidence est située dans le quartier de la Roquette tout à côté du Rhône. Très bien placée, toute la cité est accessible à pied ! La résidence est organisée autour d’un atrium sur lequel tous les logements donnent. Le calme y règne. Il s’agit d’une vieille bâtisse rénovée. Ma chambre était située au second étage. Équipée d’une cuisine avec tout le nécessaire, d’une belle salle de bain et la chambre salon d’un seul tenant. L’ensemble est très agréable à vivre et pour se reposer ! Tous les commerces sont sur le pas de la porte et toute la ville aussi !

+ Firstly this is not a 2 bed property, one bedroom is behind a curtain. It smelt of damp, had mold on the walls and slugs in the classroom. There were slugs inside and management did nothing about our complaints.

L’odeur d’égout et le mauvais matelas

+ Appartement terrasse en duplex. avec chambre au premier et cette odeur d’égout est forte, matelas ikea premier prix… dommage car la terrasse est agréable, avec un grand barbecue et la localisation parfaite.

+ At a very nice location, classic design of the building and rooms was beautiful but also clean, and services of the property managers were very kind and responsive. We had unforgettable stay at this apartment in Arles, thanks to these.

+ Great place and super convenient. Also enjoyed the quiet evenings even though close to the action.

Good location but needs some TLC

+ Check in was a bit disorganised, our apartment was in a different building and the on-site parking was not on site but instead 15 minutes walk away. The apartment whilst modern and comfortable had one cup, only 2 coffee pods and the towel rail had been pulled off the bathroom wall. It could do with a bit of TLC.

+ Nous avons réserver l'appartement du rez de chaussée de 80 m2 qui est en réalité deux appartements réunis. Il y a une humidité résiduelle liée à l'emplacement en rez de chaussée. L'ensemble est toutefois propre mais quelques détails sont gênants comme le fait que les rideaux occultants d'une des deux chambres ne coulissent pas entièrement. Mais surtout nous avons dû subir le soir une invasion de petites limaces dans l'entrée qui se sont infiltrées par la porte principale. Le propriétaire contacté n'a pas jugé très grave cette invasion ce qui a rajouté à notre agacement, car il s'agit d'un 4 étoiles!! La jeune femme qui s'occupe des lieux en journée en revanche a été très compréhensive et agréable

+ The parking accommodation was very close and felt very safe. Unfortunately the laundry set up was not ideal.

+ Beautiful and spacious place with serene courtyard and excellent location! Just steps out to bunch of wonderful restaurants including super cute breakfast place. Sending out to Big thanks to the wonderful staff, Jeceilla. We really enjoyed staying here.

+ We liked our room - space to spread out. We extended our stay for two nights and they were so accommodating. Free laundry facilities. In a cute part of town near grocery markets boulangeries, restaurants.

+ I was ready to leave a bad review. Prior to check in I kept receiving emails telling me parking is limited and if I needed it to make sure I reserved a spot. Each time I'd email the company asking to reserve a spot. Instead of confirming the company would wait several weeks then send the same message again. I spent $30 on cell phone add ons trying to contact someone while traveling. I was told to call back, I'd call and they'd make me call back again. A simple, that's an automatic reply would have done the job but the man kept telling me to call back at different times. Then enter Jacinda. She was friendly, very helpful and a complete 180 from the man I had been dealing with. Parking is in a secure parking garage and fairly easy to get to. The hotel is run down but the whole city is. We were able to walk to all the attractions and there were two small grocery stores near by. Once we arrived there were zero regrets we chose this apartment hotel.

+ Upon check in because we weren’t fluent in French was told that we were lazy. Accommodations were ok and was a convenient location. The carpet was very dirty.

+ We took a taxi from the train station 16e but once we knew where we were, we walked back to the train station. No elevator and must be able to do stairs but it is beautifully restored and has a huge room, kitchen and large bathroom. Grocery store across the street and many restaurants around. They give a map and lots of local info. Even the managers personal cell number, should we “get into trouble”.

+ Good location but apartment could have been a little cleaner and the bed we had was the worst. Mattress if you could it that, was all twisted up and lumpy. Very terrible bed.

+ Very uncomfortable bed which is a shame as the location is great. However, unless and until the mattress is replaced, Room 3 is pretty much uninhabitable. Shame

Een redelijk verblijf in Arles.

+ La Residence is een oud gebouw zonder lift. De kamer was groot maar slecht gemeubileerd. De bank verzakt en oud. Wel was er een goed functionerende airco. Het bed was prima. De locatie was uitstekend: om de hoed zijn meerdere restaurants en de binnenstad op loopafstand. Parkeren kan ook op loopafstand tegen van betaling.

+ Property was great, location great however I due to difficult communications I didn’t appreciate being loudly ‘ summoned’ by an irate hotel manager and shouted at by her for taking up an extra foot in the garage especially as I (thought) I had been told this was ok….I felt very uncomfortable over what was an innocent and minor mistake. The other guest an Australian chap (nice guy) needed the space also said he felt awkward about how she dealt with it. Otherwise a wonderful place

+ Lovely old French Hotel. 1700,s. There were stairs that had some tiles missing so a hazard if you have trouble with stairs but the host helped us up with our luggage. Lovely nice size bathroom with a tub and heater in the bathroom. We would definitely stay here again it is close to everything including 2 food stores around the corner. Laundry facilities can be used in the evening.

+ Large apartment. Nice to have so much space to relax and enjoy some food. Close to many attractions and food options. Groceries one block away.

Good stay; very unhappy with ownership

+ The room and location were very good. Communication with manager was a challenge as we did not have a phone number of the manager. On the confirmation of the reservation we only had a phone number of the property owner. Therefore when we called to try to get some changes made, we were told by the owner, "That's not my problem, that is your problem. I cannot do anything about that." We were shocked by the attitude and lack of willingness to try to resolve the issue. When we finally checked-in the mgr said our request for a change was no problem but by then we were really unhappy about the owner's response and attitude. Advice to hotels.com, is make sure the confirmation that comes from the hotel has the correct number for contact.

+ Location and ambience were great and the room was spacious. However, the most important thing about a hotel is the bed. Even after we fixed the bed (see below) the mattress sagged and was strangely short, about 4 inches/10 cm shorter than is standard. In addition the lighting in the room was dim even by French standards and there were odd smells (sewer, mustiness, oil paint) that came and went. The bathroom was spotless but the kitchen was dirty, especially the floor. When we went to bed the first night, we realized there was a crater on one side of the bed. As there is no on site staff, we had to wait around the next day until someone showed up to check in a guest. They didn’t check our bed to see what the problem was and wanted €50 for us to move to a different room. Obviously they figured we were complaining about the saggy mattress not a “real” problem. When packing up to move rooms we looked under the bed to make sure nothing had fallen under it, and noticed the slats had come off the railing. So we dragged the mattress off and fixed it. No apology or recognition of our inconvenience. Not hell on earth but we would not stay here again. There is no shortage of options in Arles.

Definitely would stay again

+ We booked a Deluxe Duplex room, which had bunk beds, living room kitchen, bathroom and a separate bedroom with full ensuite bath. Very spacious room with all amenities needed to cook meals, small fridge & dishwasher. Beds were very comfortable, clean towels and AC cooled the rooms off in no time. 2 grocery stores right across the street. Staff were very friendly, helpful and wonderful to have on sight laundry available for guests after 7. We fell in love with Arles and will certainly be back to Le Residence!

Unorganized staff and service

+ Lots of challenges to begin with. Our reserved parking lot was occupied at our arrival (and once more during our stay). They asked us several times per mail about our arrival time even though we had given the information. No hot water so we needed to change room (but we negotiated a discount). One day they forgot to clean the room and coffee was not replenished (we needed to ask for this on a daily basis). Room was nice and well located, but all in all too expensive.

Lovely place in Arles!

+ Lovely spot in Arles. Perfect location. Kind hosts. Well-appointed and comfortable apartment. We enjoyed our stay very much and don't have anything constructive to share. A couple of quick notes to align expectations that may be helpful: - Parking was a 5-10 minute walk away, across the bridge. Easy to park, secure garage. -No lift, just stairs, so be prepared for that -Perfect location to explore all of the city -Everything one needs for cooking meals -Across the street from a grocery store, 6-7 minute's walk to the weekly. outdoor market, and next door to a coffee shop and great breakfast restaurant.

+ The host was very accommodating and helped us with logistics like bus schedules etc. Beautiful room- so nice we stayed an extra night! Definitely would recommend La Residence for hospitality, convenience and comfort.

+ Excellent value in a perfect location! The spacious suite has a full kitchen, modern bathroom with good water pressure, and a comfortable bed. Wonderful linens! It felt like a home versus a hotel. It was nice to have the optional parking garage as we had a car for this trip.

+ Great location with everything you need within a few steps. Quiet and comfortable bedding. Best sleep of our trip. Excellent map with recommendations provided at check in. Thanks for a great stay.
