Fabulous stay in what felt like a “Real Madrid Apartment”

+ The owner was amazing. The house was perfect, lots of plants, excellent cooking facilities and good air conditioning.

+ The host, Susana, was very nice and welcoming, we really liked the flowers, convenient location, very close to the metro station

− It was quite cold, and the only way to warm the apartment was using the AC, which was quite loud. Although the apartment is in a central area, we didn't fully feel safe in the neighborhood

A wonderful introduction to Madrid

+ The perfect introduction to Madrid, Susana's apartment is charming, comfortable, and scrupulously clean. The neighbourhood is friendly, lively, and an easy metro hop from all of Madrid's sights. The apartment is exactly as depicted; very relaxed, quirky, and endearing decor and yet very homely. The many plants, beautiful skylight over the bed, and surprising choice of relaxation spaces all create the feel of an oasis after the bustle of the city. Susana is a warm and welcoming host who was very tolerant of our flight delays and occasional miscommunications. My partner and I are grateful to have been able to stay in her lovely home. I would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation and very much hope to return myself at some time in the future.

− We loved everything, except having to leave! With its steep entry stairs and occasional steps inside, it is not a place for the mobility impaired. That said, my partner and I are mid-late 60s and had no problems.

A little Gem in Madrid

+ This property is a little gem in the metropolis that is Madrid. To get into the city is just a short walk to a bus stop and a single bus ride to the Estanque Grande Del Retiro (Retiro Park) which is a great place to start any day in Madrid. The hosts were very welcoming and the property itself was a little gem, we loved the outside patio to relax on a warm evening. The air conditioning inside was good and very welcomed as it was very hot. The kitchen was more than adequate to prepare a lovely meal and the bed was very comfy. We recommend this accommodation.

Beautiful home, nice area and great host

+ Lovely home, welcoming feel as soon as you stepped in. Very enclosed and private because of the decorated balcony, it was a quiet area yet only 10min walk to metro and 5min to supermarket so very close to everything you needed. Aircon and fan were a life saver. Kitchen had everything you needed, as did the bathroom. Balcony was beautiful, it really made the stay for us. Susana was very helpful and informative and wanted us to have a good stay, great host.

− Our only complaint would have been the construction downstairs that woke us up at 8am on the first two days, however i messaged Susana and she quickly rectified that and made sure it started later on our last two days and was very apologetic about it. So no complaints!

Uncomfortable to the point of unacceptable.

+ Not much, unfortunately. We are in our 70's; had we been 50 years younger we might have felt differently

− Parking was supposed to be available but we found it very difficult to find a parking space nearby. The apartment was up two narrow flights of stairs and the bathroom was simply a wet room and part of the main room - very rudimentary. There was supposed to be a washing machine, but there wasn't. Having booked for three nights, we left after our first.

A really unique apartment with beautiful indoor and outdoor garden patio.

+ Susanna's apartment has the most wonderful garden patio and conservatory. We had a really lovely time just enjoying the ambiance that Susanna has carefully created. She has thoughtfully provided everything you need to be able to cook substantial meals and to relax and to take in the Spanish sunshine and birdsong. Susanna was very responsive and we were made to feel really welcome. Thank you for hosting us!

− Travellers should note there are two flights of steep stairs up to the apartment and that the apartment is located in a slightly rougher neighbourhood.

Lovely little bolt hole

+ The flat is very cute and very well stocked with everything you need. It's just a couple of stops on the metro away from the centre of the city so perfect for accessing all the sites. Susana is lovely and very helpful.

− It was a little cold, but there are extra duvets and a little heater which helped immensely
