10,0MartinMakepeace🇪🇸 España · En familia · Mar 2025Superb Hotel, ideal location
+ Superb hotel right in the heart of the resort. Ideal location - 2 mins walk to the ski lift. Valet parking was a welcome surprise, concierge organised ski rental at a very good price. Service was excellent, lots of delicious food choice in the restaurant (half board recommended). Spa was incredible (payable locally at a discounted price). Overall this is one of the best ski hotels I’ve stayed in.
10,0K8539ECmarkh🇬🇧 Reino Unido · En pareja · Mar 2025An amazing experience, certainly another “Level”!!!
+ We treated ourselves to a Level experience as part of a ski trip to Sierra Nevada. From the minute we arrived to the time we left the service was exceptional, every member of staff went out of their way to ensure we had a special experience and never did it feel put on!My wife is coeliac which she mentioned in passing on the first day and from that moment on, every time we went to the Level lounge she was brought her own plate of GF tapas without asking which gave her reassurance of their understanding of the condition, which is often misunderstood, and she knew the food was safe to eat and not run the risk of ruining her skiing the next day! Also, included within the Level package is spa access which is a fantastic way to relax after a day on the slopes before a bit of apres ski!Probably one of our best ski experiences, the recent heavy snow fall helped, but we will certainly be booking again!! ❄️⛷️🇪🇸
10,0maddiebelfastEn familia · Mar 2025Amazing stay. Would highly recommend
+ We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We had an amazing stay. We stayed in the level suite which was perfect for a family of 3. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The service from check in to check out was the best we have had in years. The spa is a must if you stay here. Very family friendly and great location.
6,0Z5711FJpaulasEn pareja · Mar 2025No great, hidden charges
+ The location was perfect and the staff friendly and helpful. The food is served buffet style and we paid extra on the first evening for dinner. Beware, when paying 25E for a bottle of wine, it’s only a half bottle. The choice was varied but all the food from the hot counter was tepid at best. Same for breakfast. However, there is a microwave for you to reheat it if you are prepared to join yet another queue. Be prepared to queue…..a lot during the weekend. It was so busy we even had to wait for a table meaning we had to rush or be late for our skiing lesson. We chose a spa hotel with the intention of resting in the spa after a day on the slopes. But it’s hidden in the info that there is an additional charge of 30E per person for 90 minutes when paying over 300E per night, we expect the spa to be inclusive. We used it once and it wasn’t pleasant. Vents around the edge blew cold air onto us for the first 30 minutes so we retreated to the sauna. But to get there, you had to pass under freezing cold showers, which were activated by hidden sensors! Having worked out how to dodge this shock inducing gauntlet, we headed for the hot beds….. which were cold. The jacuzzi pools were also barely warm and not pleasant. There’s a further hidden charge of 4E for a compulsory swimming hat.The room was large enough and the bed comfortable. But I the bathroom was tired and in need of renovation. There was black mould in the shower sealant. There’s is a kettle in the room but on a good day, you get enough coffee for two cups and two tiny tiny portions of milk, enough for half a cup. On the first and second day, we didn’t even get that despite asking for it at reception so we had to buy our own, there ere 4 herbal teabags though if you like them. House keeping was terrible. They made the bed and folded the towels. They didn’t even exchange used cups! It got better half way through so there could have been a change of staff as they then wiped down the bathroom
Caro y mediocre a malo

+ Atrocious hotel. This hotel is not 4 star, struggled to give it a 1 star. Health Hazards. The room No: 237 is: very dark, dated, very depressing, basic. Very very small, not enough room to hold suitcases (one had to go into wardrobe so we had not hanging space, the other had to go in the bathroom). Only just enough room to walk around the bed.Very very Very noisy, loud noise outside window until 1am, then at 7:30am drinks delivery right under window. No room insulation, could hear the next door guests snoring, the guests above using the toilet & shower, could even hear the guests walking down the corridor breathing. No decent sleep for a week!Asked to move rooms but reception said no other rooms available. We would have considered an upgrade to The Level but this was not offered. On the second day we only ate in the hotel (dinner buffet was included). We attended the evening dinner buffet where I had a salad. I got extremely bad food poisoning from here!!!! Was sick every 15 mins from Midnight to 10am the following morning – I was in very poor condition, exhaustion & severe dehydration. My husband asked at reception for help but they were extremely uninterested & said I had to go to doctor because doctor would not come out. I couldn’t walk without my husband’s assistance and was sick in the street getting to doctor, very sick in the doctors waiting room and sick on way back from doctor. Only stopped being sick after anti-sickness injection etc from doctor. The Spa – BEWARE HEALTH HAZARD. The Steam room fabric ceiling is covered in mould. This could be extremely dangerous to someone with respiratory problems going into such a mouldy steamy environment.Complained about all of the above to receptionist who said she would get a manager to come out and speak with mt – needless to say, a manger never appeared – they are completely disinterested in the welfare of their guests.

+ Nice centrally located hotel.
Breakfast buffet was poor, looked fine but hot food was warm at best. There were tiny bugs in the fresh pineapple and melon, voidable to the eye. We wouldn’t eat in the hotel again.
Staff were friendly & polite. Hotel seemed clean.
Spa was extortionate. €30 per person for a 90-minute (max) session. That’s for pool, hot tubs that are Luke warm, sauna, steam, etc.
Overpriced for what it is.
Overpriced for what it is
+ The hotel was fairly nice, clean, well presented, polite staff.
The negatives for us was,
(1). Breakfast was included in our stay. Buffet style. Although it looked it wasn’t. The hot food wasn’t hot, luke warm at best.
The quality of the food in my opinion was poor for a high standard hotel. There was tiny insects in the pineapple and melon, only a few, but you could see them. Not good at all. In fact after the first two mornings, we ate outside the hotel.
(2). There is a nice spa/pool area in the hotel. The cost to use it is €30 per person for 90-minutes, then you are required to leave. For what it is, it’s extortion. Maybe worth €8 per person.
The hot tubs are far from hot, Luke warm at best.
To be honest, the hotel was fine, but not for the money charged.
Short stay at Melia Sol Y Nieve
+ Hotel was OK, but a little further from the ski lifts than I had hoped. Was very disappointed to find the the hotel charged me 4 euros for a Coke that I never had from the mini bar.
10,0Michelle NicoleEne 2025+ Excellent location! Steps from the lifts⛷️ Beautiful hotel w very good dining options! I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The staff were all amazing as well, especially Lydia (my Pilates instructor at Melia SolyNieve) I can’t wait to come back next year :) Thanks Melia
Lovely Hotel - Disappointing Experience and dishonest staff
+ I booked this hotel as I am an independent travel agent and I was looking forward to writing a review for this hotel for my potential clients and my network of other agents who would advise their clients to visit.Upon arrival, check in was slow and disorganised and took quite a while. We had booked 2 rooms and luckily for us one of the rooms was upgraded to the level (no one told us at the time - we found out a day later when I checked the app) The second room was booked as a standard deluxe, but no one at check in even attempted to upsell an upgrade which was a shame as my friends would have paid for it if offered.
A little disappointing that our room upgrade didn't come with all the benefits of the level tier - again had we known we would have paid the extra.Apart from check in all was fantastic at the hotel, we bought our lift passes at the machine in reception and I had booked our ski are with a company that partnered with the hotel so that was a breeze. Breakfast was wonderful, loads of choice and good quality food.We wanted to use the spa in the hotel and when we enquired we were told it was €39 pp, but if we listened to a 30min sales pitch we could go for free. We decided to see if the spa in the sister hotel was any cheaper and when we rang they said it was €25pp, so we booked it. On arrival we were told the spa was included in our package so it was free. A lot of confusion and misleading information here. Really the spa facilities should be included in the room stay. Especially as we were only allocated 1h 30mins.On check out, we purposely left a ski jacket in the room as the pocket zip had broken and we thought maybe one of the staff may like to keep it as it was in good condition and expensive but we already had bought a new one. I always leave toiletries or anything that staff could use again as I know it is appreciated.
When we arrived home a few hours later my husband realised he had left his wedding ring on the bedside table when packing
+ Great stay just front desk staff could be more helpful
10,0K1214OOsusanmEn familia · Ene 2025Excellent hotel, lovely staff
+ We stayed 4 nights in this very nice hotel in the centre of the resort, close to the ski lifts. It was so clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The buffet breakfast was superb, both in the quality and the quantity of the food. The ski locker area in the basement was clean and easily accessible. Can't praise it enough really - we'd definitely go back.
+ Good hotel and facilities…clean.
Couldn’t control heater though…
A great hotel for the Ski Trip
+ We stayed in the upper tier called the "Level". The ease of having a refreshment and snacks (very nice tapas) plus the open access to the spa on return from the slopes makes this hotel very special. I will always try to stay at this hotel "If it is available". Book in advance.
Fint spa.
Dirty room and stressful staff qlounge
+ I didn’t get the room we booked so we had to bed the sofa and it was dirty. Not a nice experience. Not worth 810€ and the spa is not included it cost 30€. We did love the saxophone entertainment but the qlounge staff is stressed and rude and it’s leaking water from the roof.
+ The check in lady, could do with a little advice regarding smiling & attitude, Our check out lady "Carmen" was fantastic, friendly helpful everything we would expect, rather than the lady who checked us in.
What are the hotel room walls built from?
+ Great location, excellent breakfast buffet (make sure to be there at 8 when they open, a looong line at 8.30), nice bar. The spa was not worth the money, in my opinion. At this price level, surprised it was not included in the price. However, by far the worst experience in this hotel was the horrible sound proofing of the walls (we stayed on the first floor). We could hear a lot of noise from the floor below as well as every word spoken in the hotel room next door. Impossible to fall asleep until all other guests had gone to bed. Will not stay there again, which is too bad given all the other positives of this hotel
Great hotel for the Snow slopes and apre ski
+ Meila Sol Y Nieve is a very nice hotel close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. It is very close to the lifts for the snow sports with a convenient locker room for the skis/boards etc. We had issues with the plastic/electronic door keys that constantly deactivated requiring us to to to reception every day and on one day every-time we left the room. Ask for valet parking as the underground parking lot is one of the most difficult parks I have every driven a car. But overall a fabulous hotel.
6,0Verified travelerMar 2023Not woth the money..
+ A nice hotel with nice location, but at this price you expect a real restaurant with real food ! This restaurant was busier, more noicy and chaotic than a McDonalds.. The restaurant staff did a brilliant job, but where there are not enough seats and not enough food; whant can they do ?

+ Oppgrader til Level det er verdt det.
Vi hadde et supert opphold🙏
+ The noise is a nightmare. The room walls are paper thin. The family in the room next to us was crazy loud, but the front desk wouldn’t move us to a quiet room. Said that the only room they could move us to would have “family” rooms on both sides and probably be just as loud. Paying $400 a night to not even be able to sleep is insane. Definitely not recommended.
Långsam incheckning men trevlig personal. Vet inte varför det tog sådan tid
+ Positives: clean, fantastic shower, the spa and sauna was nice after a long day skiing, if you book a room at The Level, then you get good service and facilites. The Level Lounge offers free drinks and snacks all day and a nice quiet breakfast facility. The Level room was very nice. Staff went the extra mile to make sure that you're needs were met.Negatives: when we arrived we had not booked a room on The Level, we'd paid £692 for 2 nights, half board. For that we were offered a nice room but it was a small double with dated fixtures and fittings. There was no milk for tea in the room and when I came to ask for it at reception the receptionist was not interested in helping me at all, she just said oh well you'll need to call room service and ask for it, then when I asked for a bottle opener she said, go to the bar. The spa was not included in the price so would have cost £35 per person, per usage, which would be a pre booked 1.5 hr time slot. We decided to pay an extra £298 to upgrade the The Level, which includes the spa access and free drinks and snacks all day at the lounge, including alcohol. The second we upgraded the service changed from treating us as a minor inconvenience to 5 star vip service. Most of the staff were friendly and genuine but the woman who went from cold and rude to fawning and all smiles let the whole team down. The beds we like camp beds on wheels and kept rolling away from the wall as I sat up. Ice was £3.20 extra. Not good value for money.
Mixed review
+ Public areas of gotel were very modern and smart, in keeping with what you would expect from Melia brand. However, bedroom was tired looking and certainly no more than 3 star.
Breakfast was excellent.
Be warned, this hotel sells itself on the spa facilities, and pictures of spa feature heavily.
Very disappointed to discover you could not use any of the facilities, even the pool, without a €30 charge per person.
Thos should be clearer in descriptions.

Melia Sol Y Nieve review.
+ I stayed at the Sol Y Nieve about five years ago with my daughter and was very pleased it hadn't changed or got tired.
It does everything well, reception, restaurant, rooms all good. Food was hearty and plentiful, buffet style. Facilities are good and it's close enough to the ski lifts not to be to irksome at the end of the day.
Not good that the spa was extra, would like to have known when I booked.
Not the best stay
+ The phone in room didn’t work. I had to use the one in the toilet to book room service. When it didn’t arrive they delivered to the wrong room. It took over an hour for the food to arrive. The room was very dated and there was a used glass of water left in the room on the bedside table when I arrived. The signage in the hotel was also confusing. The ski locker didn’t work twice which took over an hour to resolve. Just not great.
Not worth the money.... at all....
+ I Think that just to pricing of the room pr. Night is not worth the Price. If You wanna go to the spa.... extra money again... then You have to buy special shoes and cap to go to the spa.... extra pricing....
The place is getting old. Needs renovation....
Kallt i vattnet!
Good hotel
+ A good hotel and well located. However, our room was not really up to the standard we expect from Melia. The shower head was leaking and the sound insulation to the room was really poor.
Excellent buffet breakfast
+ Servicio excelente.
