1 week peak months stay

Stayed here for 1 week late July/August and I wasn’t sure what to expect as had seen a couple differing reviews but i was pleasantly surprised. Reception, housekeeping, bar & shop staff were all very welcoming and professional. Made nothing feel like too much trouble. The room (one bedroom apt) was well decorated and above all, clean and spacious enough for 3 adults & 1 child. The only comments I would make is I do not believe our bed sheets were changed throughout our stay. Although they were made up, I would have expected them to be changed half way through the stay, perhaps you have to request this. The air con in the room was great during the day, however at night, it seemed to not be as cool, especially in the bedroom, so we had to leave the door open to try and regulate the temperature. The shower head was less than desirable and found it not to be very powerful so took a while to wash long hair. Could do with an upgrade. Holiday makers do put their towels out early in the morning to reserve beds! We had to start doing this on the third day to get beds in the sun but also enjoyed days down at Sa Coma beach. (25 min walk) The spa pool was lovely! Big enough to do some lengths as the outdoor pool was often very busy. The safe in your room is an additional charge and this can be done at reception. Also, the grounds I personally found stunning. All in all, we had a great week and would certainly recommend this hotel!

Pésimo, no alojaros ahí!

Such a gem

We’re currently on holiday at HM Mar Blau. We’re were initially sceptical following some slightly negative reviews but are pleased to say that we’re so pleased with our stay. The food is truly lovely (and we’re a bit particular). So far we’ve had Italian night, cheese night and a variety of Spanish food. The children have adored it all from the churros at breakfast to the fantastic selection at dinner. All the staff we’ve met have been lovely. I never leave reviews but felt this was needed. Thank you.

Ok but not 4 star

Overall we had a good holiday the food was lovely with lots of choice and variations each evening. The beds were comfy and the apartment room was a good size. The pool was good and there was plenty of loungers. The staff were generally friendly and the supermarket on site was well stocked. However this hotel is in need of some upgrades in the bedrooms in particular the bathroom; the pool was a bit small for the amount of people and it was quite dirty; and the restaurant area and cleaning of the rooms wasn’t great. From an area perspective it’s good because you’re close to both Calla Millor and Sa Coma but the walk to either when it’s hot is a lot. I would say it’s more like a 3 * hotel.

Lovely but a few issues

This hotel is in a quiet area between the great resorta of Cala Millor and Sa Coma both have beautiful beaches and between them hundreds of shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were all friendly and little shop useful. The rooms are dated but clean and beds were comfy. I did have concerns about safety in the main pool. The female lifegaurd was with an elderly lady most days and was more interested in helping her around than watching the pool. Also they alow ball games in the pool which is fun but maybe could be in a certain part of the pool as I saw numerous children and adults hit in the face by teens and adults throwing balls. Perhaps if the lifeguard paid more attention to the pool and less to the elderly lady and eating there lunch she could keep pool users a bit safer! Overall a nice stay but could do better

Overall a three star deserving hotel

Overall it was a pretty nice hotel! Located near to the bustling resort of Cala Millor with lots going on around it. Rooms are designed very well and spacious enough for our family of three. It was mostly clean in the apartment. Some things that brought down our rating on our stay was having a kettle that didn’t stop boiling and handle was so hot it burnt a member of our family’s hand. Touchscreen on hob was very sensitive and didn’t turn off either. However, beds were very comfortable. There was not enough seating in balcony area for us meaning we would have to drag out chairs from inside. One morning, a cleaner walked in without knocking when we were in our pyjamas! We did not do the all inclusive option however the hotel had a lovely little supermarket to go in with all your basic needs for breakfast and lunch. Pool had nice American truck too selling nice good quality food. Now despite the pool being huge and it having lots of comfortable sun beds that were not too crowded. The actual pool itself was packed and had lots of activities going on that would block people who just wanted to have a nice swim. Lots of ball games were happening too meaning that a ball went smashing into my sunglasses and lifeguard did not act immediately. I certainly don’t recommend for a relax due to loud entertainment and entertainment team were very pushy at getting people to join. We loved this hotel and thought everyone was very friendly!

Rude staff and dirty

Wow where do I start !! On my last night so let’s add the plus points .Hotel is perfect around the pool and the location is fantastic and very very quiet and it’s a shame I wound never comeback because of the following reasons . 1. The staff in reception are the worst I think can ever think off ,there to help no way they are rude and so unprofessional it’s unbelievable that they speak to with so much contempt. 2.Our room hasn’t been cleaned once in 4 days and we where told it was done daily and when we said it wasn’t they walked away from the repetition desk ,bed and towels not changed once and even left a bagged up rubbish bag next to the bin to see if removed ,still sitting there. 3. 4 stars no way I have stayed in better crap holes in Blackpool ,please avoid . 4. If you want a dirty place and rude staff this is the place in your dreams.

A good overall stay

When we arrived we was greeted by a man on reception. He kept saying I needed to email him a voucher ( hadn't a clue what he was on about) we eventually got it sorted The room was clean and towels changed daily if you needed, however the bedding didn't get changed all week ( never experienced this in a 4 star hotel before) The photos on the wall are certainly not appropriate for a family room but did give us a laugh. The pool area was nice and clean. Not many umbrellas for the beds though so I recommend sitting near the trees. The entertainment team where fantastic and really enjoyed their jobs. The female lifeguard is absolutely useless. She spent all week either on her phone, nipping off or helping her elderly mother into the pool. She is quick to blow her whistle if you take anything other than an inflatable ring into the pool. The sign says no large inflatables. She even blew her whistle at a young child taking a floaty in which was smaller than the rings. She needs some training and would definitely be under scrutiny for gross misconduct in the UK. We paid some evenings for the all inclusive meal and drinks. The third night I went to pay Iresa on reception said its 3 adults and 1 child but the previous nights she had charged me for 2 adults and 2 children. When I questioned this she said over 12s are adults. I explained I had only been charged for a child in which she replied I dont know why they would do that. I said it was you who did it. The food was ok. Pizza, chips every night for the kids. Always pork and then themed nights. The food isn't hot unless you get it as soon as they stock up. The onsite shop is well stocked and decent price Its about a 10 minute walk to the rocky side of the beach which was fine for us. We didn't go further up the beach as it was very busy. We went on the jet skis which was amazing. We got a taxi to Cala Bona one night which was roughly 12 euros. We ate at Smithys which was really good. We had an overall

Would have liked a little bit more…..

Arrived late at night. I would have liked a warmer reception on arrival rather than someone who didn’t smile and make us feel welcome. It cost a lot of money to stay here. The two staff members were talking in Spanish to each other which I thought was rude during the check in process. A little bit ignored as well. Nothing about the hotel was explained or any information given etc. just got given our room cards and told which lift and floor. He just couldn’t be bothered. Room was clean although living area small. Bathroom clean. Balcony small with just 3 chairs. Beds/ sofa beds were comfy. Shower was ok but the glass door was quite short and leaked onto the floor. Hotel bar clean and staff were friendly here. Pool wasn’t the biggest considering th amount of people staying. It don’t open until 10am which is quite late if you fancy an early morning dip. Sunbeds weren’t too terrible to obtain but still the usual people who reserve them disappear for the morning. Handy supermarket within the hotel. We didn’t do all inclusive so can’t comment on the food however we do order some lunch which was a good size portion and tasty. Rooms were made up with fresh towels. Small gym, a portable and table tennis. Around a 15/20 min walk to beach which was the rocky end so around 25/30 to the nice sandy one. Taxis are quite cheap to go to neighbouring reports. Cala Bona is nice with a marina and cost around 10 euros. Nightlife is mainly restaurants and a few bars but isn’t a mega night life resort in calla Millor.lots of shops in the resort centre. There are loads of hotels in the area. Really recommend Delaney’s which is an American Diner about a 10 min walk. They also do breakfasts as well. Hotel overall very clean. Not the most modern so would rate a 3 star. Just a shame the initial check in wasn’t as nice as it could have been.

All inclusive day pass

Fully recommend the all inclusive day passes, food was delicious providing lots of variety, even on busy days. The drinks were delightful with a great range. The entertainers were outstanding, went above and beyond to get people involved, and we had lots of fun, special mention to Mikey and Balas entertainers.

Avoid! shoud never be rated 4-* more like 2*

NEVER a 4* hotel 2* and that's being generous. Check in was a nitemare reception staff were rude and arrogant. We went as a family of 9. We had a 10 month old baby a 3 year old an 11 year old 2 16 year olds and 4 adults. Check in took approximately 45 mins and we were the only ones checking in at the time. The language barrier was a huge factor and the 3 staff on reception were rude arrogant and very unprofessional. They were laughing at us and talking in Spanish between themselves. We had been up since 4am and the kids were tired but the young female on reception was rolling her eyes and very arrogant. We eventually got the keys to 2 x 1 bed rooms. When I opened our room I was appalled at the size of the room to begin with it was really small for 5 people. We had ants all over the floor by the kitchen area. The wardrobes smell musty so we didn't even unpack we lived out of suitcases for the 10 days we were there. We had inappropriate paintings on the walls. We had a big crack in the window of the bedroom. The grout in and around the bath area was filthy. The balcony was unclean and so small with just 2 chairs on it . I asked the rep if we could be moved to another hotel and was told it was unlikely there would be anywhere available and it would incur additional costs so we had to stay there. The pool looked very cloudy and was over crowded daily. 3 of the kids were vomiting throughout our stay it was horrendous. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Not pleased

My family and I came to mar blau for 10 days. The minute we walked through the doors we were greeted with rude behaviour from members of staff especially one of the young girls named isrea. I don’t know whether it’s to do with us being scousers or not but I have read similar reviews involving the receptions poor attitudes. We had some struggles with our rooms out such as things like moldy curtains, lack of space, ants crawling round the floors (at one point we had at least 20 ants all together) and another thing that was quite disturbing was the art on the walls (naked women)which I understand people may like this type of art but for a hotel being suitable for family and children but it was quite disappointing to see when you know you have young children with you. Apart from the rooms and reception the pool area was great we had lots of fun in the pool and with the entertainers and the food was lovely but I do recommend to eat food out in a restaurant for a decent price. Mar Blau has been chaotic for our family but we got there in the end. I’m sad to say I would not come back to this hotel but I would definitely come back to the area. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel please read the reviews before choosing because we made that mistake and look where it brought us.

Great Family Holiday

Great hotel, not too big that you are overwhelmed but plenty of people to make a good atmosphere. The all-in food was great, lots of different themed nights each with plenty of choice. Never a queue to find a table or space- which is great for the height of the season. Food is regularly replenished throughout the opening hours. The allergy information was great- clear on all dishes. We normally like to venture out for a meal but didn’t need to this time. There was also the option to purchase food from the American food truck by the pools- the nachos the share were immense and great value for money. All- in drinks were good and the bar staff were really friendly- again hardly ever having to queue to get a drink. Others who were self catering also suggested that it was great value to buy all in for the day if you were having a pool day- very flexible! The shop on-site was reasonably priced and was open until 11:30pm which was great for snacks. There were very little sunbed wars! If you wanted a good location- you could find a sunbed at 9 ready for when the pool opened at 10, but later in the day it could prove harder to find one. Only inflatable rings in the pool and not lilos, plastic light balls (the lifeguard brings a bag to share out!) Rooms good, some may say a little dated but very clean and comfortable with great air con! The location is away from both sa coma and calla Millor and is quiet- but means you have the option to walk into both towns in about 15/20 mins. The walk through the woods across the road leads you to a castle with great views. The entertainment team were amazing, having nearly didn’t book via Jet2 as it said no entertainment - we read some reviews that mentioned Fran, Mike and the team. They didn’t disappoint! So good at getting everyone involved and Fran really brought the energy with his dance moves and his charismatic personality- my kids (big ones!) were so sad to say good bye! What a fab guy! Enjoyable stay BUT not 4 star rooms.

As a family of 4, we have just arrived back from a lovely 10 night, half board stay at this hotel. We arrived late at 2330 hours to a queue to check in. The sole staff member was efficent though and didn't keep us waiting long. Eventually checked in but on attempting to get to our third floor room in block 4, the lift was out of order so had to walk the stairs with heavy cases. Not ideal. The lift was out of order a few times throughout our stay and the fire alarm went off twice one night too. On entering our pool view room, we were hit by a foul stale smell which was quite off putting. Straight away we noticed how worn out the room furniture and fixtures/fittings were. That did initially make us question our choice to stay here. That said, it was clean and to be honest we were so tired we went straight to bed. I approached reception the next day and explained the smell was awful. Immediately, Zavida (i think was her name) was super helpful and offered us another room or fix the air con. We opted to stay in the room and straight away a team of engineers and cleaner was sent to our room. On returning later, the room was pleasantly cold and smelt so lovely so we were more than happy with this service. As stated the room was really clean so was very happy with that. The apartment rooms were spacious and our 2 teenage sons (17 and 13) found the settee beds very comfortable and sizable. The hotel was super clean and gardens well kept. We never struggled to get beds around the well maintained pool (we had a pool view so contstantly watched the staff cleaning the area at night and in the morning). It was great having on site shop which we constantly used too. The food for breakfast and evening meal was wonderful and never had an issue with it or the choices and we don't like fish but still always something to choose. Jefferson was an absolute delight to meet and such a hard worker. A credit to the hotel. Please pass our thanks onto him. To be honest, we found

Review

Overall, we had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice to suit everyone, and we couldn’t fault it. The pool was great, the daytime activities for children were fantastic, and the snack bar offered a wide variety of delicious options. Unfortunately, there were a few issues with our accommodation. On arrival, we checked into our first room, only to discover that the air conditioning wasn’t working and the room had a damp smell. To the hotel’s credit, they dealt with this very quickly and moved us to another room straight away. However, after our first night in the new room, we found that the air conditioning had leaked overnight, leaving water constantly dripping onto the floor. We also noticed a significant amount of mould on the curtains, which we believe was caused by the ongoing air conditioning leak. This was disappointing and is something that clearly needs addressing. The only other negative experience involved one member of the entertainment team. We were a family group of 13, including four children, and during both the day and evening this individual made rude comments, used inappropriate language, and appeared to be intoxicated on several occasions. This was not the standard of behaviour we expected, especially around families with young children. Despite these issues, we still had an enjoyable holiday, not quite a 4 star hotel however the hotel has many positives, particularly the excellent staff, great facilities, delicious food, and family-friendly atmosphere. With a few improvements to room maintenance and the conduct of certain staff members, this could be an outstanding place to stay.

Decent apartments but wouldn’t rate them 4stars

One bed Apartment decent size . Beds very comfy . We were fourth floor in Ibiza building and it was lovely and quiet pool view which was nice. But few things letting this place down, cleaning of room was very inconsistent a quick brush was about the height of it until I asked for better cleaning. Pool area not clean and seen a rat hanging around the store where pool equipment was stored. Food was ok. Also bit out of Cala Millor too. Overall definitely not a 4 star, maybe a mediocre 3 *.

Fantastic time

We had a fantastic time and we have to give a huge shout out to Fran, Mike, salla and the big hungarian as the entertainment team were amazing. The only thing that's stopping a 5 star review is we were told we could have a late check out but when the day came we were denied. Other than that we would recommend this hotel.

Avoid if you expect real 4-star quality

Note: Re-posting this review as my wife’s original review was mysteriously removed. Potential guests deserve to know what to expect before booking. If anyone is looking for a true 4-star hotel with true 4-star service, do NOT stay here. My wife and I generally only stay at 4 or 5-star properties, but HM Mar Blau falls far short of that rating in almost every category, decor, cleanliness, amenities, and staff attitude. Here is a breakdown of our experience: 1. Zero Accessibility or Customer Service I arrived at the hotel on crutches wearing an orthopaedic boot due to a broken foot. Despite my clear mobility issues and my wife handling two large suitcases, the receptionist offered zero assistance and was thoroughly unpleasant. When we tried to reach our room, the main elevator smelled strongly of raw sewage and failed to move. Returning to reception, the staff member rolled her eyes and told me to use the stairs. After I pointed out my crutches and suitcases, we were redirected to a service elevator hidden in a cleaning supply room. It didn't work either until a maintenance worker showed us a secret trick (you had to twist the button before pressing it) and walked off. We were forced to use this dirty service lift for days. When the main lift was finally fixed on Sunday, I reported the sewage smell again, only to be met with blank stares. 2. Dated and Unclean Rooms The room felt like a 2-star budget hotel: * Very dated, with holes in the tiles and mouldy curtains. * There was sand on the floor and a loose screw on the balcony when we checked in. Despite daily cleaning visits, the sand and screw remained on the floor the entire time, showing the room wasn't actually being swept or cleaned. * Basic 4-star amenities were lacking, instead of a standard set of toiletries, we were left with just two shampoos in the shower and a random body wash at the sink. 3. Archaic Cash Policy (Safe and Towels) Unlike standard 4-star hotels, everything here is an extra charge, an

Lovely stay

I had read a few unfavourable reviews about the hotel but in my honest opinion it was lovely. Chilled, friendly vibes. Yes, the rooms were a little tired but perfectly clean. We had an apartment on floor 3 and studio on floor 1. We sent self catering and ate out all of the time do can't comment on the cooking facilities. The pull out sofa beds were a great size for the kids, especially as one of them was a 16 year old andover 6 foot tall. 🤣. Air con was great. We bought food at the pool snack bar which was very nice and good portion sizes. The pool area is lovely and we never failed to get sunbeds, even for 9 of us together and that was after 9.30am so no wake up at daft o clock. The lady lifeguard also said hello everyday and I saw her on a few occasions helping people to find umbrellas if needed. The entertainment staff are fab, lovely and crazy 🤣 but very entertaining. All of the hotel staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in between Cala Millor and Sa Coma which is good so you can visit both resorts. Yes it is a little bit of a walk into them but doable. The walk to Cala Millor beach to get to the area that isn't rocky is long, the sea is wavy which the kids loved. The walk to SA Coma beach is shorter and the sea is calmer. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely visit again. We visited Cala Bona which is a must.

Perfect week away

We stayed here in July as a group of three girls on a self-catering holiday, and we had such an amazing time. The atmosphere was friendly and inclusive, and we never felt left out. We decided to upgrade to all-inclusive for one day, and it was absolutely worth it for the price! The food was delicious, there was a great variety to choose from, and the drinks were fantastic—especially the strawberry daiquiris, which quickly became our favourite. The entertainment team really made our holiday. They were so friendly, full of energy, and always made an effort to include us in the activities. A special mention has to go to Fran, who was incredible. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he made every activity so much fun. He even listened when I suggested playing volleyball in the pool and made it happen for us. It was such a hit that he organised it again on our last day, which was the perfect way to end our holiday. Thank you to everyone for making our trip so memorable. We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fun, welcoming holiday.

Underwhelming

Just returned from a week’s stay. Mixed review to be honest. Staff are lovely very friendly. Entertainment staff are good too. Pool area is nice and always plenty of sun loungers without having to get up mega early. We stayed self catering. We eat out a lot so don’t ask for much in the room but lack of a toaster is odd you have to pay 10 euros for one from reception which you get back when you return the toaster but why not just put one in the room? I’ve never ever known a hotel self catering with no toasters? The kitchenette area is very small hardly any room to store things and hardly any room to make sandwiches etc. Cups and glasses are tiny and tiny bowls so no good for cereal. Tiny travel kettle too. I understand if you’re all inc or half board that these are not major issues but self catering they are. The fridge is very small too it just felt messy and cramped and all we used it for was brekkie and sandwiches as we ate out for main meals. The rooms are in need of updating the taps were falling off in the bath/shower. The decor/tiling is old it didn’t feel very clean. The sofa beds had marks all over them in the lounge thry felt dirty. The bedroom was fine. Spacious and felt clean. It is quiet at night so no issues sleeping. A weird alarm did go off one night right outside our room very loud at 2am we never received any info or explanation about that. There is no way this is worthy of 4 stars unfortunately. The location isnt great. It feels dirty around the hotel walking into Cala millor or Sa coma it just feels a bit rough. Once you’re in Cala millor or Sa coma it’s fine but Cala millor deffo the nicer out the two. The gym is tiny and the air con virtually non existent so if more than one person in it, it feels way too hot. Didn’t use the indoor pool and we didn’t eat in the cafeteria so cant comment on those. We did eat at the pool bar and the food was lovely. Overall I’d say good friendly staff good pool area but location, cleanliness

Disappointed

Currently staying at the Mar Blau for 1 week on a self catering basis as i wanted to book a last minute break away before returning to work from maternity leave. I've rated a 2 as i had high hopes for this place and it fell way short for a 4* hotel. We are a family of 5 with 2 small kids and a teenager. If you're thinking of booking here self catering, please don't! Save your money and stress levels, unless you're planning on eating out for every meal. The facilities are completely inadequate especially for what you pay (nearly £2000), we have 2 small hobs to work with, which feeding a family of 5 is becoming increasingly difficult and tbh is really making me regret my choice to book here. Upon our arrival we were greeted friendly enough, although no information provided in regards to whats offered/available, after that, most reception staff have either been ignorant or simply just can't be bothered to help, and we weren't asking anything particularly bothersome, either advice on closest laundromat, supermarket etc. My husband asked for advice on a place for takeaway he could run to quickly, only to be met with an unhelpful and almost annoyed attitude from one of the guys in reception. The same receptionist completely ignored us the next day when we again asked a simple question (the closest beach) I cant comment on food as we've not eaten much here at all, we did try a few times though, went down around 6pm to order food only to be told the kitchen has closed, tried again next day about 5pm and was told the same 🤷🏾‍♀️ My daugher got a burger and chips yesterday when at the pool and said it was good. Our room was clean and fresh, although not much welcome info which you'd usually expect from a 4* hotel, aircon only works if all windows and doors closed, also not advised of this and had to work it out for ourselves! Fridge is very small and tiny little freezer compartment holds no more that a bag of ice, which again for an average family self catering isn't ideal, w
