I do not recommend Alcam: after paying for the accommodation and an additional €300 deposit, the electronic key didn'

+ I strongly advise against booking Alcam apartments in Barcelona. After confirming our reservation via Booking, we were required to pay an additional security deposit of €300; we were told that without this payment, the electronic key to access the apartment would not be sent to us. We complied with this requirement and transferred the funds. However, once we received the electronic key, it turned out not to work, and we were unable to access the booked accommodation.

− We repeatedly called and messaged customer support but received no response whatsoever. The worst part was that this happened in the middle of the night, leaving us stranded outside with a child. Due to the complete lack of assistance, we had to urgently find and pay for alternative accommodation. Alcam representatives only contacted us after our rental period had already ended. By then, their response was of no value. My experience has shown that this landlord is unreliable: after receiving payment, they failed to provide access to the booked accommodation and offered no support during a critical situation. I cannot recommend Alcam to anyone who values ​​safety, accountability, and quality service.

+ L’équipe était très sympa, nous sommes arrivés à 13h00 et l’appartement était prêt😊, la localisation est idéale pour visiter Barcelone. La machine à laver.

− Quelques équipements qui ne fonctionneent pas comme.la.hotte de la cuisine par exemple, il manque d’un peu de matériel pour cuisiner, un four est à disposition mais pas de plat pour pouvoir l’utiliser.

− The electricity door key was very difficult to use some time, and there were no black out curtains in the bedroom. So that the people behind in the building can't see in. other than that, we had an amazing time.

+ Die Lage ist super.

− - sehr hellhörig - schwierig zu finden: Die Graffitis wurden beim zugeschickten Foto der Haustür wegretouchiert und außerdem sind die Stockwerkangaben irrefuhrend. - Küche sehr spartanisch ausgestattet - nicht so sauber, v.a. Bad und Küche

+ Прекрасное расположение, рядом рестораны, магазины, метро и остановки автобуса. До моря 20 минут. Есть кондиционер, нет солнца в окна. Все необходимое на кухне есть. Стиральная машина, Полотенца разных размеров , хорошее постельное белье.

− No reply from the host via booking, cannot get any supply if you need help. Hard to find the exact room, you need to try every door and see if the it is unlocked.... No elevator

− Entrence of the apartment is not so good. And prepare yourself to wake up with smell of indian food. Union spices garlic. Deposit you need to pay is not mentioned at the beginning.

+ Great location in the heart of Barcelona, with great restaurants and brunch cafes just few steps away. Pretty big apartment with very helpful staff ( really appreciate all their help during my stay!)

− The apartment needs more cleaning as you can see the dust in the corners The bed must be changed as the current mattress is simply horrible, couldn’t sleep well and had terrible pains in my back afterwards And the worst was a cockroach I found in the kitchen… thus a full disinfection is required in my opinion Also mind that the apartment is on the second floor and there is no elevator in the building so can be challenging to move in and out with a bulky luggage

+ the actual apartment was nice, the beds were comfy and the air con worked well

− this was the worst check in we have ever experienced after travelling all around the world. i highly recommend not booking this place simply due to the check in process. after days trying to contact them, i had to make several calls to try and find out how to get inside the apartment - and to even get the proper address. i was sitting out on the dirty street for hours trying to contact someone. i had already checked in online but apparently they needed an extra 300€ “deposit” which was never mentioned anywhere or agreed to prior to booking. finally once the online check in was complete they sent us an email with “the key”. i then needed to download an app and turn on my locations and roaming data to unlock the door. as a traveller without internet all the time this is the worst possible way you could give somebody a key. if you don’t have internet or rely on wifi when you are travelling, it will actually be impossible for you to stay here. trying to sleep at night was also a struggle due to noisy neighbours at all hours and zero soundproofing.

Overall a good stay, given its location, but really pricey for what it offers

+ Things to appreciate about this property: - location - spacious - well equipped - communication with the host was good, especially as they fixed the shower once we told them it was not working properly

− The apartment was overall good, but there were a few issues: - the couch is over used and pretty dirty - the washing machine leaks buckets when used from the hose behind it - the wifi doesn’t reach the bedroom - there was a mess behind the washing machine - there’s mold in the bathroom around the window, due to the fact that it cannot be opened and aired

Overall it’s a great place and would not hesitate to stay here again.

+ The location is perfect, walking distance to a lot of things, as we’d as the Metro if you want to travel out a bit further. The shower is great and has SUPER hot water.

− The apartment is in the 4the floor. The first set of steps are steep, and the other staircases are a little narrow. Wasn’t an issue for me, but something to consider and be wary of for travels who have a hard time with stairs.

− I can't imagine a more complicated arrangement of access to paid accommodation than what we experienced. We paid around 400 euros for a 3-night stay, but the refundable deposit was 300 euros, and no one will let you into the accommodation until you send a deposit + payment of the local fee. It took us a beautiful hour to arrange accommodation, which we spent on the street full of garbage in front of the house.
