Excelente estadia!

+ Da vista! Das comodidades, casa bem guarnecida, muito bom gosto na decoraçao, dentro e fora da casa. Ambiente acolhedor, inclusivé para a nossa cadela!

− Ausência de persianas ou portadas, entrando a luz muito cedo nos quartos...apenas um pormenor.

+ A casa é incrível, foi umas das melhores hospedagens que tivemos na vida. Bem equipada com utensílios novos, excelente localização em Pinhão e limpeza impecável Tiveram um cuidado de, além do berçário, deixar toalha infantil para nossa bebê. Na geladeira deixaram tudo para nossos dias de café da manhã, muita água em garrafas, cápsulas de café, chá e ainda uma garrafa de vinho do Porto para degustarmos. Ótimas camas também. Enfim, tudo perfeito para curtir essa região incrível!

− É uma escada em espiral, para subir aos quartos com as malas grandes é um pequeno esforço, mas isso não atrapalhou em nada a experiência!

Uma casa bem preparada para receber uma família

+ Alojamento muito limpo, camas muito confortáveis, atoalhados mais que suficientes para uma família de 4 pessoas. Frigorífico muito bem abastecido. Cozinha muito bem equipada. Excelente vista de rio.

− We didn't succeed to open the air conditioning in the living room. It was hard to find the property because waze isn't accurate

We had the most amazing family time in Casa da Encosta !

+ Breathtaking view. Air-conditioning in both bathrooms. We really appreciated the welcoming gifts and intentions. The fridge was filled with groceries, ready to use for tosta mista and plenty of water. The owners even thought about our dogs and prepared their little basked with water bowls and collapsable bowls to take during walks. The rooms have anti-mosquito devices. Pinhão is a beautiful and cosy little village to visit.

Beautiful stay with a beautiful view

+ The place was spotless, really clean and well looked after. The view was absolutely amazing and made the stay extra special. We also really appreciated the great recommendations from the host, they made a big difference to our trip. The breakfast provided in the fridge was superb and such a thoughtful touch. The bathrooms were lovely, and everything was well equipped including a great outdoor BBQ area, which we really enjoyed. Overall, it was a fantastic stay.

− The only reason we gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is that we specifically chose the property for the swimming pool, which unfortunately wasn’t working during our stay. Also, the directions to the property — especially along the gravel road — could have been clearer.

Wonderful stay at Casa Da Encosta!

+ Everything was great! The view was amazing. We had a lot of fun watching the cars and busses try to get past each other on the old bridge below. We spent a lot of time on the deck/terrace, just watching the town. Town was quiet, but we had a lovely port tasting at Quinta da Noval. We were surprised upon check in to find a fridge stocked with bottled water, eggs, meat, cheese, orange juice and milk. And......in the corner was a decanter of port. It was delicious and she makes it herself!

Just the birthday treat we had hoped for.

+ The amazing location, with both stunning views from the property and easy access, without a car, to so much to see and do. There were only two of us but there was plenty of room for four to spread out and enjoy the special features that have been created. We appreciated the provisions for breakfast ... and the welcome port!

− It was tricky to get the kettle to work.

Fantastisk utsikt över staden samt en karaff med portvin och mat som väntade.

+ Härlig utsikt från verandan. Fanns en hel del mat i kylen och även bröd och frukt. Samt en karaff portvin! Allt var mycket välkommet!

− Väldigt osköna kuddar, hittade dock tunnare vi kunde byta till. Luktade surt på badrummet.

Dreamy spot

+ Wonderful house with a stunning view convenient to many vineyards, boat tours and restaurants. This place was comfy and well-equipped, and the host was so kind to leave us lots of food and a carafe of port. The area is beautiful, and we enjoyed being able to visit the area without a car. We highly recommend!

A very enjoyable and comfortable property!

+ It was a beautiful property with stunning views! They thought of everything to make your stay pleasant and comfortable! A generous amount of groceries were available in the fridge for breakfast along with a variety of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit! They even had Port for you to enjoy! The apartment was very clean and well stocked! The beds and linens were good quality!

− The first bedroom on the right has a shower that drains very slowly! I am sure this is an easy fix! Also some maintenance could be done on the pool area! This is a wonderful property for able bodied people! The steep incline to the property might be challenging to people with mobility issues! The spiral staircase might also be challenging to those with mobility issues!

Beautiful views and great local restaurants

+ Fantastic location within easy walking distance of local restaurants with great views of the Pinhão river and lots of charming places to sit and read apart from the rest of the party if required! We arrived by train from Porto and had no difficulties finding the place. The house was very well equipped and clean and whilst we didn’t meet the hosts they did respond promptly to messages.

− Nothing really. I had worked out from maps that it sat above a road which is well used, but once you accept a little traffic noise it’s not an issue and very quiet at night.

+ A Casa da Encosta foi a casa mais bem equipada onde já ficamos...tem tudo o que é preciso para uma estadia confortável. As vistas são fantásticas, tanto o exterior como interior da casa reúnem todas as condições para convívios com família e amigos de forma prazerosa. Camas super confortáveis, tudo muito limpo e os produtos do pequeno almoço deixados no frigorífico. Comunicação fácil com anfitrião, que acomodou os nossos pedidos.

− O único ponto que gostaria de melhorar seria o tamanho da piscina...acho que tornaria a casa ainda mais fantástica. Mas não tenho nenhum aspecto negativo a apontar na estadia.

− Rien . La maison n est pas vraiment adaptée pour des enfants en bas âge ou personnes en mobilité réduite car il y a des escaliers étroits.

+ Muito confortável para 2 casais, com tudo o que é necessário para uma estadia mais longa. Cozinha totalmente equipada. Vista maravilhosa. Fomos recebidos com muitos suprimentos, que nos ajudaram bastante à noite. Recomendo fortemente.

+ Localisation extraordinaire, vue sur la rivière et le Douro, sur la Quinta et sur le village de Pinhao. L’organisation du jardin et de la piscine, du comptoir pour luncher face à la rivière.

Perfectly perfect in every way

+ Everything - every detail is thought through. This makes a huge difference when you’re looking for a home from home experience. From the well equipped kitchen to the everything you need to start a fire, we felt fully prepared.

− Incredibly difficult to be critical. My only feedback would be that the pillows could be a little bit more comfortable but I’m really clutching at straws.

Perfect home from home in beautiful Pinhão.

+ Casa Da Encosta is beautiful, and totally exceeded our expectations - truly a home from home. Professionally staged photographs can make modest properties look much better than they are in reality, but in this case they do not do justice to this fantastic house and gardens. The facilities are first class, and the very generous complimentary food and drinks provided were excellent. The house is really spacious and is in a great position right on the edge of Pinhão. It's elevated position above the river affords beautiful panoramic views, and we could have sat on the fantastic terrace for hours watching the aerobatics of the swifts and swallows, or the eagles and kites soaring overhead. Temperatures were unseasonably high when we visited in mid-June - approaching 40 degrees - so having the (small but perfect) swimming pool and the shade of the fruit trees was a Godsend. Pinhão itself is a lovely small town, in a great position on the River Douro, with excellent cafes and restaurants. We certainly hope to make a return trip, and we will definitely hope to stay again in Casa Da Encosta. Obrigado for everything!

− I'll be honest - I didn't love the walk up the hill in the severe heat - but the rewards awaiting in Casa Da Encosta made it well worth it.

A beautiful house in a stunning location.

+ Beautiful house in a stunning location overlooking the Duoro Valley. An easy walk of about 12 minutes into the town of Pinhao. The house had everything you could ever need and the hosts provided lots of food for a great breakfast. The cherries were beautiful!

− A steep drive and difficult parking initially.

+ the location and view were fantastic. the house itself was well equipped amd comfortable. nothing was overlooked!

Amazing house

+ The house is amazing! There are 2 bedrooms with private bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. The owner has left fruits and coffee and the fridge was full. The communication with him was perfect. I hope we can come back to this wonderful house again.

A great casa with the most beautiful views!

+ Great location and beautiful views with well appointed house and generously supplied breakfast and snack foods. All the rooms were very comfortable and the outside patio was a real bonus.

− The driveway up to the house is all rocks and gravel with overgrown plants so almost dangerous to get up the steep driveway. Owners should consider fixing that driveway. The pool was too dirty to use but the grounds were well kept and nice.

Perfect location to explore the Douro valley.

+ The owner provided all information needed for the check in. The house is great with a nice view over the river and the bridge. It is equipped with everything we needed. If you come by car, the access road is rough but you can leave the car along the main road.

We loved it so much we asked to stay another night! It was booked - so sad.

+ Similar to other reviews, this is an amazing place. Perfectly situated. Breakfast provisions were plentiful and yummy! Lots of bottled water and we didn’t discover the decanter of port until the day we were leaving!😂 Sitting on the balcony in the morning with the sun shining on you, drinking coffee, watching folks come and go, is so nice. And in the evening with the lights from the river walk 😍We parked our car outside the gate and had no issues.

− While the road up was rough, it’s nothing that you can’t handle in most cars. However, sports cars that ride low would likely be challenged. And for guests with mobility issues, this would be a tough walk up and down.

Spectacular views, home away from home with views on steroids

+ Spectacular view. Close to town and ability to walk to Quintas from the accommodation. Well equipped. Generous with kitchen provision. Felt like a home.
