An uncomfortable stay but enjoyable time eating out and exploring the local area
The property was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The shower also worked well and there was always hot water. We liked the location as it was not too far away from two resorts (20 to 30 mins walk) so there were plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. It was in a residential area but this wasn't a problem as it seemed a reasonable neighbourhood and we felt safe even after dark.
We saw two cockroaches in the kitchen during our stay (on day 2 and day 4) despite following the instructions from the host about not leaving food or dirty pots around. We did kill the two we saw with the cockroach spray we found in the wash room, but we didn't feel comfortable cooking or eating in the kitchen after that, so ate all our meals out; we feel that the source of entry for the cockroaches should be found and blocked off, so that they can't get in the building as we dreaded coming downstairs every morning. The house could be really nice but also needed a bit of maintenance and improvements, and a more thorough clean to bring it up to a decent standard. It was relatively inexpensive but we would rather pay more for a better experience.
