An overnight small-group camping trip from Yulara / Ayers Rock into Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. After boarding at Ayers Rock Resort the tour heads straight into the park: the Uluru Cultural Centre, a walk along the base of Uluru to the Mutitjulu Waterhole, ancient rock art and Kantju Gorge, and a spectacular Uluru sunset before dinner at camp. Next morning you watch sunrise and hike the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge at Kata Tjuta before returning to Yulara between about 12:30 and 1:00pm (do not book flights before 2:15pm). Includes 1 night at a permanent outback campsite at Uluru (communal showers and toilets), 1 breakfast, 2 lunches and 1 dinner (guest participation), guided bush walks (~5 km), Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park pass, accredited driver-guide and air-conditioned small-group bus travel. Day 1 - Yulara/Ayers Rock to Uluru: pick-up after lunch; Uluru: Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre; guided walk at the base of Uluru to Mutitjulu Waterhole, sacred rock art, Kuniya Piti (seasonal) and Kantju Gorge; sunset at the Uluru lookout; dinner at camp. Camping: private Ayers Rock campsite (permanent tents or bush swags, communal bathrooms). Meals: dinner. Drive 60 km; hike 2-3 km. Day 2 - Uluru to Kata Tjuta: light breakfast and sunrise; hike the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge at Kata Tjuta; return to Yulara Resort or Ayers Rock Campground approx. 12:30-1:00pm. Meals: breakfast, lunch. Drive 150 km; hike 2-5 km.
