The hotel overall has a clean nice feel to it, very spacious if you like big hotels.
Attractive grounds and in the best location of Costa Adeje on the seafront. Main pool area at front facing sea, the other further back into the hotel and heated, still outside. Lots of available beds and very comfortable.
Staff are great. Very friendly and helpful.
Food is excellent, lots of choice available and I’m quite fussy.
The gymnasium is probably the best I’ve ever been to in a hotel. The only machine they could do with is a preacher bench but that’s just me being picky. There’s an inside and outside gym area which is quite unique.
Evening entertainment was good. Particularly Clarence Stanley, look out for him, he was amazing!
Cons
Not many to be honest. The drinks are a bit pricey compared to prices outside hotel area, bars, restaurants etc, but I guess that’s to be expected. They’re not tight with the measures so there’s that.
Aircon wasn’t that great but I believe restrictions have been added to prevent hotels dropping the temperature too low so not sure if this was the reason.

+ We’ve just returned from our third stay, and once again, this hotel has completely exceeded expectations. I travelled with my husband, our 3-year-old son, and my in-laws—and genuinely, there is something here for everyone.
From the moment you arrive, the attention to detail is clear. The rooms are immaculately clean—we stayed in Daphne this time and were treated to a stunning sea view overlooking the little cove. Housekeeping is wonderfully flexible too; you can have your room serviced as often (or as little) as you like—just leave a note on the card and they’ll take care of it.
Now, the food and drinks—absolutely outstanding. Having stayed in many all-inclusive resorts, I can honestly say this one goes above and beyond. No “bare minimum” here—just premium, proper drinks, an impressive selection of wines and cocktails, and thoughtful touches throughout. My son was obsessed with his daily Colada Jungle—so much so that he’s been asking for them ever since we got home!
The buffet restaurant is exceptional. We don’t even bother with the à la carte options because the buffet has everything you could want—always fresh, fully stocked, and spotless regardless of when you dine. The live cooking stations are a highlight, offering three fish and three meat options cooked exactly to your liking, right in front of you. During our 10-day stay, we were lucky enough to enjoy two lobster nights and two sushi nights—easily our favourites!
Service is another standout feature. There’s never a struggle to find a table, and the staff are incredibly attentive—always ensuring you have a drink, the right cutlery, and even a steady supply of those “magic wipes” (essential when your child discovers the chocolate fountain!).
Poolside service is just as impressive. There’s plenty of seating options, and while the heated pool is understandably popular, it never feels crowded. The pool bar serves delicious poke bowls, which were a refreshing change from the usual fries and wings you often fi

+ Another great week at The Anthelia. We decided to go all inclusive upgraded from half board as we were offered a great deal at reception and this worked well for us -you can use the other restaurants with a good percentage off the menu price - all drinks were available apart from champagne which was fine with us as we like Cava and Prosecco anyway ! A big thanks to Susie and staff on reception - Susie our room was amazing thank you - all the staff are brilliant-thanks Oscar and team in the bars (pool also) you really did look after us.
The hotel location is amazing - we prefer del duque beach to fanabe and there is a really good shopping mall 5 minutes away !
We have been many times to this hotel and we will be back.

The kids club was amazing - the staff were kind, attentive and the activities were really varied. The staff were so enthusiastic - the disco was fab and the Disney night. We recommended to a friend and they’ve booked already.

+ This is a lovely hotel in a quiet area near Fanabe / El Duque with pleasant walks in either direction. There is a boutique shop within the hotel which stocks beach attire and other essentials. Our room was spotless and in a nice location overlooking a quiet pool with a distant sea view. The food selection at breakfast was very good. The grounds and garden areas of the hotel are beautiful and well kept. Staff were helpful, room servicing good and frequent. Would hope to return at some point.

+ The hotel location is excellent. Direct access to the promenade in a nice part of Adeje. The staff were excellent too. We booked half board so had the buffet at both breakfast and dinner. Really enjoyed the choice and quality of the food. The desserts at dinner were my highlight. I'd say that the dinner was probably the best hotel buffet I've had. Some people comment in general about buffet food being cold but we didn't find that at all.
The hotel has numerous chilled water dispensers in the accommodation blocks. Excellent idea. However, why is it we are then charged for water in the restaurant when it's available free elsewhere? After the first night I took my refillable bottle in with lovely chilled water from just outside the restaurant. Common sense?
The reason for not rating 5 star was the room - a duplex suite. Great that you have two toilets and two balconies however maintenance was an issue. We notified reception of three issues and only one was rectified during our week's stay. Also, it was sold as a double room but we had two single beds pushed together with single sheets and duvets. Not what we expected.

+ It’s really not worth the money, the hotel is looking tired now, the carpets along the corridors are old and dirty looking, reception area and parts of the hotel look very old fashioned, the food in the restaurant was lovely but was only Lukewarm, if you are a couple or group of adults looking for a relaxing holiday, you might not get it, as there is a lot of toddlers, I love children but while relaxing all you can hear is little ones screaming, there are 4 pools, 3 of them are for children and the other pool would be ideal for an adult only pool, but no there was a lot of toddlers screaming, I wouldn’t rate this hotel as a five star, would avoid if you are looking for relaxation

+ Love the Iberostar brand having stayed at Gran Tacande many times thought I would try the Anthelia, pleased I did. Charming receptionist at midnight on 28 February after 12 hours of gruelling travel (flight redirected to Agadir for 5/6 hours ugh). Informed I had been upgraded from side sea view to double sea view and the west facing view I had requested had been so kindly fulfilled! I upgraded to All Inc from Half Board for 302 Euros and so pleased I did. Mini fridge so well stocked, as was coffee pods, red wine etc. Buffet food disappointingly COLD or lukewarm at best but cooking stations superb providing hot cooked fish/steak etc so stuck to that. Cold buffets were superb, sushi, lobster, smoked salmon, prawns etc. Salads, cheese platters, bread etc all equally sumptuous. Breakfasts fruit bar/juices bread etc super as always. STAFF were without exception WONDERFULLY helpful and kind. Room sadly cold and other guests complained of not being able to put heating on. Will book again directly as not good value through Easyjet as long transfers so 5 days out of 7 enjoyed. Great trip ... thank you Anthelia. Julie x

+ My stay was for about three weeks in February. There is not one person working here that isn't willing to help, or that doesn't have a friendly approach towards their guests. From checkin to checkout and even after.
The people working at the reception all speak proper English, and often other languages. Every single one of them receive you with a friendly attitude. Upon entry I was welcomed with a free drink and they had my bagage delivered to the room by default. Extensions of my stay were always handled without any issue. Even when the hotel was booked full, they managed to fix something and had me stay in the same room, as requested. They accepted cash and creditcard (I haven't had to try any other payment options)
The food they serve is of good quality and has a wide variety in options. At breakfast there's a lot of sweets for those that like it, but also plenty of healthy options. You can dine inside or enjoy your food in an open area outside. The workers in the restaurant don't always speak English in a way that you can hold a conversation, but they all control the basics at least. They will be able to understand, and they're always on the move to keep the place clean.
My room had all the basics one could need. The room itself and the beds were cleaned daily. They do a daily round by your door to ask if you want some extra towels, minibar refill, or simply to hand you some chocolates. If you're sleeping in the morning, they will come and clean it in the afternoon. At all times they will respect the 'do not disturb' sign if it's on your door.
Issues can always happen in a complex as big as Anthelia is, but they were all fixed almost instantly, at all times. When I had some water leaking underneath the shower door past 23.00 they had someone mop the floor immediately and bring fresh towels as soon as I notified reception. No attitude, just service. When they notice a defect in your room during cleaning, they will proactively get maintenance to get it fixe

+ The Portofino restaurant should be of high calibero, we booked 5No days in advance and were really looking forward to a nice evening with some nice food.
The service staff were very tentative but the beef lasagna was awful, disgusting, vile, appalling, it looked okay from the outside but the first mouthful was luke warm and then in the middle was cold.
The staff tried everything to stay and have another serving but it was too late. The evening was ruined so we left everything on the table and reported straight to the reception.
As of writing this some nearly 24hrs later we have heard nothing from the hotel.
To make things worse we ordered 1No plate of fries and literally before the mains came out we were told no chips / fries , really !!!!!!!!!

+ Perfectly positioned hotel enjoying panoramic views. Staff could not be more welcoming and helpful. Special mention to Pherimena who word at the main pool bar.Rooms are very comfortable. Only downside is the glass doors into the shower and toilet rooms… but fine as long as you know your bedroom partner well
We upgraded to all inclusive on arrival and although not big drinkers we are throughly enjoying all the meals (choice and quality is fabulous) and the range of drinks.
Plenty of daytime activities and have enjoyed the evening musical entertainment and had a dance. No reserving of sunbeds here as there are loads. Main pool is heated and then there’s an even warmer smaller pool. Hoping to return next Jan.
Looking to return next January.

We’ve visited Tenerife so many times and been fortunate to stay in a lot wonderful hotels but this hotel exceeded every one.
I could break the review down into why I enjoyed specific aspects of the hotel but I would run out of space. There wasn’t a single area, be it pool, entertainment, cleaning, bar choices etc that we could fault.
Two things I will comment on though.
Firstly, the food. Absolutely outstanding! The choice and presentation was first class every night.
Secondly, the hotel staff. I feel this was a huge factor in our enjoyment.
The staff at this hotel seem genuinely happy to work there and appear to make it a personal mission to give the best service they can.
A huge thank you, in particular to Felix, Ines, Katherin, and Alicia in the restaurant and to everyone else we met. We look forward to returning soon.

+ Service was amazing. Breakfast was best I've had. Parts look a bit dated, but experience there makes you oblivious to this. Our room was lovely. Shower out of this world. Great restaurants in the area and walk to La Caleta is lovely. Easy to get a lounger and they were so comfortable. Attentive staff around the pool. Great activities and tasteful entertainment like flamenco dancing and choice of 2 venues every night plus casino - really good. Highly recommend. Have stayed at other 5 star hotel in the are, but this ones service and food and drinks topped it. Hope to return

+ An excellent hotel that provides nice rooms, good staff service with good amenities. The buffet restaurant serves a good comprehensive breakfast coupled with good service. The service around the pool area is good and reasonably priced.
We dined at the Portofono Italian restaurant and had an excellent meal with great service without it being over booked.
The position of the hotel is great for dining out of an evening in the nearby FaceTimes along the beach area.
Would recommend a visit to both couples and families.

+ Welcoming easy check in was great and helped by the complementary Cava. The hotel is old style luxury in its design. Lots of shiny marble, wood and taught iron.
Our room was modern and spotlessly clean. I loved the rainfall shower. Lovely large flat screen tv and balcony.
The breakfast buffet was bountiful, the handmade pastries especially delicious. We never were left waiting for coffee which is a great plus. You’re left with the whole pot.
The pool areas are stunning with three outdoor ones to choose from.
My favourite part of our stay was thalmost daily arts and crafts workshops which were fabulous. I made a recycled glass necklace- a treasured memory of my stay in Tenerife. I really enjoyed it! Thankyou for offering these activities.
We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family and would be back in a heartbeat.

Lovely atmosphere with a good mix of ages from young families to older generations! Staff seem to be happy and enjoying their jobs.
Our rooms had a side sea view which was lovely.
Although the hotel is fairly expensive, the food is absolutely amazing - probably the best I’ve had in a buffet restaurant so well worth the money. So much choice and very high quality.
Rooms and communal areas were always super clean.
Lovely small warm pool as well as and lots of good activities to choose from.
Amazing to get away from the English weather - will definitely return!

+ For the first time we had Christmas away and chose this hotel, and wow, truly incredible from arrival to leaving.
On checking in you realise the traditional splendour of the hotel and are greeted so well by the reception team and staff.
We had a duplex suite which was superb, 2 separate rooms , both with bathrooms and balconies with views across the pool and bay, very comfortable, all amenities provided and so clean, which the lovely housekeeping staff kept immaculate during our stay.
One point that should be mentioned, is the room came with a water jug which you filled up from the many dispensers in the corridor, doing away with all the plastic and glass bottles many hotels provide and waste.
The pool areas are well kept, very comfortable loungers, and you are attended to by more outstanding staff , the large pool was heated , several other pools in the complex so you don't feel crowded, which was another bonus, plenty of activities going on around the main pool and a fun Christmas show poolside!
We opted for All Inclusive, be ready to exercise and diet on your return. The food in the buffet was outstanding, spacious and light, again, excellent staff and probably the best food we have eaten in any hotel from a buffet, fresh, so much choice and quality and the Christmas gala dinner was just amazing.
Evening entertainment was varied in either the bar by reception of the theatre and of good quality, if the Motown tribute is on don't miss it.
Location is perfect, walk through the immaculate grounds to a gate that leads to the promenade, easy stroll to beaches and harbour/shops/bars/restaurants, out the main entrance and yards from a quality shopping mall.
Another plus is the plentiful free parking for guests.
You also have a very helpful team working in guest relations who are available by email or phone to help you pre arrival and during your stay ( special thanks to Abel who did so much for us).
In summary, absolute perfection, so much so we have rebooke

+ The location of the hotel is perfect, situated a stones throw away from Del Duque beach and shopping centre with a short walk to restaurants and bars.
We arrived earlier than check in and was offered a drink and advised that our room would be ready within the hour. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. The hotel throughout is spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
We opted for a duplex room. The room itself was a little tired but nothing that you would complain about, the bathrooms were very spacious and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The view from our room was exceptional!! There is no water in the rooms as this is provided by water fountains of which there are several on each floor - I personally think that this was great and a far better option than bottle water as its ice cold. (recommend you take a reusable bottle)
We opted for breakfast only as we like to go out and about. The selection at breakfast was exceptional and the food was delicious. We spoke with other guests and they said that the food at dinner was also great. I think next time we would opt for half board just for convenience on a couple of nights.
We don't have small children but from what we saw the kids club was full on and looked lots of fun. The hotel do activities for older children and adults - my daughter did quite a few and really enjoyed them. Big thank you to Laura who we did the resin activity was, she was great.
Pools - There are a number of pools, we opted for the salt water pool over looking the sea. I was slightly warmer than the none heated pool but was still cold.
The staff - exceptional service through out our stay. All staff are friendly and attentive and are happy to help with anything.
All in all this was a great holiday and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. This will definitely be our go to hotel when we visit Adeje as there was nothing to fault at all.
