Kein nächstes Mal!

+ Wenn es ruhig war, Samstag und Sonntag,war die Lage gut.

− Baulärm aus dem Tal. Als wir ankamen dachte ich ein Hubschrauber wäre im Tal. Nein es war Baulärm. An der Küstenstraße im Tal wird die Wand gesichert. Die lauten Bohrungen sind von 8-18 Uhr mit kleinen Pausen zu hören. Das ist schon seit langer Zeit so und die Baustelle ist auch noch lange nicht fertig. Wir hatten die Unterkunft wg der Lage und Aussicht und Ruhe gebucht. Hätte ich nur geahnt, das ein Lärm in dieser Art da gewesen wäre, hätte ich kurzfristig storniert. Aber leider gab es dazu keine Info vom Eigentümer oder anderswo Sauberkeit: der Spülenschrank wurde schon lange nicht mehr gereinigt, dicke Spinnenweben, wir haben ihn nicht benutzt... Die Duschwanne schmutzig.... Und zu guter Letzt lief zweimal eine Ratte über die Terrasse, das zweite mal an unseren Füßen vorbei..

+ La terrazza è bellissima! Affaccia sul mare ed è una meraviglia... purtroppo non abbiamo potuto viverla di più a causa del vento e della pioggia ma quando abbiamo potuto farlo le colazioni sono state fantastiche. La casa è grande e accogliente.

− La strada per arrivare è stretta e ripida e bisogna saper guidare molto bene perché è a doppio senso.

+ Es hat alles perfekt gepasst. Das Appartment ist super ausgestattet und sehr geräumig. Die Essensempfehlungen von Silke und Stefan sind sehr lecker. Der Blick von der Terasse ist atemberaubend. Die Stufen zum Apartment waren neben den tollen Wanderungen auf La Gomera unser tägliches Training. Vielen Dank, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Sonja

Great place to return to after days out exploring.

+ Wonderful apartment, very well equipped. The views were amazing both from inside and on the terrace. Our hosts friendly helpful and attentive. Local shops were well supplied with every day needs.

− We were warned about the 55 steps down to the apartment so no surprises, but some of the steps were slightly breaking up and caused a stumble (not a fall!) Out of everyone’s hands I Know, but the weather was cold damp and windy, just why we left the UK in March! Sadly it meant that we didn’t sit outside at all, only inside with the doors shut. The beach which we could see below us was not very accessible. The local museum was closed for renovation.

What a view...and what a sunrise...

+ The location is amazing, and so are the hosts. The view and the sunrises are something to experience. We've seen most of La Gomera and without a doubt we would choose to stay at Casa Luz again. Hermigua is a great village, with good places to eat, and a nice bathing area. The island is small enough that with a car you can see all of it without any issues sleeping there.

+ Amazing views and sounds from the terrace, very cozy apartment with all the stuff you need to spend great time on La Gomera

A modestly appointed, spacious home, with a spectacular view, and exceptional privacy.

+ The view from the property was the most spectacular, and did not disappoint. We also enjoyed the open-air quality of all the rooms, and the size of the kitchen was very good. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice bonus.

− The outdoor furniture wasn't in the best shape, with one of the benches at the table broken upon our arrival. The main fridge was also in a utility closet, which wasn't immediately obvious, but it was still roomy and functional.

Fantastic apartment above Hermigua with glorious views

+ This is a lovely apartment above Hermigua. The apartment was extremely well equipped and the hosts very welcoming (helping us with our luggage). We have stayed in many wonderful places, but never before in one with such a wonderful view: the large terrace overlooks the sea with amazing views of Mount Teide.

− Quite a steep walk or a drive along a very narrow road from Hermigua, so we personally didn't feel like doing it at night, but the apartment and terrace are so lovely that we were happy to have evenings in!

Disappointed with the overall package considering the price point

+ Caza Luz is situated up a steep road in Hermigua. The apartment we rented is part of a larger property where the owners reside. The property is well designed with wonderful views of the sea and surrounding mountains. The gardens are very nicely presented. It was a good location for our daily hiking trips (poles were available) and also close to San Sebastián for the beach. However considering the price point of Caza Luz it did not meet my expectations.

− Standards not good enough and maintenance and cleaning inadequate. No information leaflet. Bed composed of two foam mattresses with poor quality musty bed linen. No toiletries other than half a roll of toilet paper. Small shower cubicle with discoloured mouldy silicone. Accumulation of dust in places- eg bed canopy, bookcase. Windy during stay- doors and windows rattle, not draught proof, bit chilly. No recycling bins. Outside- sensor light not working, barbecue not cleaned, old chairs with dirty looking cushions.

The weather was bad throughout our stay, so it was good to have plenty of space to relax.

+ Very well equipped. It was great to find basic cooking necessities (salt, sugar, oil, etc) left by previous renters, but the cupboards could do with sorting out! Fantastic view, absolute peace and quiet. Plenty of space.

− Locks on the bedroom window were broken. Crime on la Gomera is probably very limited, but even so ... The bedroom wardrobe was musty and a damp smell got into our clothes.
