Great Budget Hotel

+ Stayed here several times in the past few years and am returning in September , it really off ers great value for a 2 star hotel , rooms are basic but spotlessly clean , air con is free and an added bonus, we find the food good with a fair choice , staff here are all excellent , we don't use the pool area but there always seems to be enough sunbeds for all , nightly entertainment in the downstairs bar is good but we also use the cala bona hotel and Sanddancers bar ( karaoke ) on a couple of nights for our evening music fix , last year we stayed at the 4 star Globales which was good but £650 dearer for the same dates , we find the Sur more central and greater value , roll on September 1st 👍

Solo holiday

+ Very good location, clean and good value hotel . Swimming pool was too small but if you like me the beach was only 5 minutes away ,the main beach was another 5 minutes walk

Great budget hotel

+ Please don’t be put off by the 2 star, attributed to this hotel. The atmosphere is better than the 4 star hotels I have previously stayed in within Cala bona. Rooms are small but spotlessly clean. Bar area is good value and we watched some good entertainment. Pool area clean and tidy and a great afternoon sun trap. Food was fantastic, but not a great choice, but we were well catered for, always found something I liked. The reception staff are fantastic, and so friendly. All in all great stay, and should be 3 star rated.

Entertainment

+ Had a great evening there on Tuesday singing and dancing with Sandy Vega. Well worth a watch. Staff all helpful and friendly and drinks are at reasonable price

Very disappointed

+ I don't understand how people think this hotel is better than a 2 star superior room is same size as normal room just has a settee in which makes room smaller kept banging my leg on it bed frame about 10 inches smaller than mattress shower room clean but water in shower sometimes hot sometimes cold But the biggest thing for me was meal times restaurant just looked like a prison canteen you have get cutlery to set your own table talk about hygiene god knows how many hands go in there and get your salt and pepper food is very average and you have to clear your own table return salt and pepper after 2 breakfast and 1 evening meal I have had enough eaten out since spoke to hotel and rep waste of time

Great location

+ I booked this hotel based on location.price and reviews.I must say I booked 10 days at the hotel sur and was well impressed at the standards and cleanliness.For a 2 star hotel I was not expecting much but got more than I expected,the room was very clean and was cleaned daily with fresh towels.The staff on reception were very welcoming and friendly,the cleaning staff always had a smile and done a really great job.Bar downstairs, with entertainment and supermarket a step away.Our room had a lovely sea view and the sun shone on our balcony every morning.10 to 15 minutes walk to cala millor with a beautiful beach and plenty of restaurants and shops.will definitely visit again.loved my stay here..

Fabulous hotel

+ Arrived at the hotel sur,early hours in the morning, we had a room booked for ourselves, and a room booked for my 81 year old dad, there was a bit of confusion which came to light a couple of days later, we ended up in the single room, and my dad got our room, but we stuck with the single room as it was unfair to ask my dad to pack up and move. The hotel is in a great location, 5 minutes to the beach and the marina, the rooms had air con which was a big plus, the bed were very comfortable, everything was very clean. The food choices were fabulous 👌, there was something for everyone, we went half board, breakfast was lovely too, full English or continental, with cereals, fruits, cheeses, yoghurt, and lots of pastries to choose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we did get asked later in the week if we wanted to move to the front of the hotel, but tbh we were ok in the room we were in, on the whole I would visit here again, 2 stars doesn't do this hotel justice, it should at least be a 3 😁, There is a British bar attached to the hotel that puts on a show from 9pm each evening, there's an 🏧 right next door as well as a supermarket. Dinner out was at Smithy's we went most days there, come out of the hotel turn left and walk straight down you can't miss it, it's on your left, beautiful food, lots to choose from and the staff there are fabulous, they must have been for my dad to tip lol. We did the glass bottom boat, great few hours on the sea, but ve warned the seats are very uncomfortable, and if you get on it at cala bona you'll be hard pushed to get a seat upstairs. We also booked the island tour, a full day out, 9pm till 6.45pm, on a coach, then a boat, followed by a tram ride then a train, then back to the coach, some great moments and beautiful views, all the way up the mountains ⛰️ 😀, long day out but worth it. Great holiday had by all.

A fantastic holiday in a fantastic hotel

+ Myself and my partner stayed here from the 1st sept till 11th sept. My 2nd time here and my partners 1st. What an amazing holiday! Cannot fault this hotel one bit. The rooms are lovely and clean. We had pool view that gets the sun all day long. The pool area is great with an adequate size pool. A little cold to get in but soon gets warm once you’re in. Handy pool bar for refreshments and ample sun beds. We stayed bed and breakfast. The breakfast is great with plenty of choice. The bar area is amazing with evening entertainment every night. We had a lot of fun. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and work so hard. They all made our stay feel special but I would like to give a big shout out to Pedro and Maria who went above and beyond and were both great fun. We will definitely be returning next year! Great family run hotel.

+ Great little hotel, clean and tidy. Breakfast well worth the money. Pool clean although deep, staff were really pleasant and nothing seemed to much trouble. Great location near to some great restaurants. Pool view rooms lack storage a small chest of drawers would be great and very useful. Entertainment in the bar below every night which could be loud but never caused us an issue. Seaview rooms will be directly above the bar and entertainment however. Majority of guest had Been before which says something about hotel. Would stay again for the price we paid.

Spotlessly clean, friendly, traditional, family hotel

+ We had such a lovely holiday here. We had a sea view room of a larger size and stayed full board. Wholesome food in the evening with fresh salad every night. Solid breakfast with a wide variety of fresh fruit every day. Spotlessly clean. Excellent air conditioning. Music in the bar stops at midnight. Can't fault this hotel really. Friendly, family staff. Extremely reasonable price for late checkout. We didnt use the pool area but when we looked it seemed more than adequate. Really good location. Nice traditional feel. Great price as well. Cheap and cheerful a little gem of a Hotel.

+ A brilliant little Hotel staying 10 nights on a half board basis. We last visited here in 2014 and I gave it 4 out of 5 as it was really really basic back then. It's obviously been updated slightly since then , with the introduction of air conditioning especially, hence the upgrade to 5 out of 5. Yes it's still basic, but the rooms are adequate, if like us as long as its clean (cleaned daily and fresh towels except on Sundays) its only somewhere to sleep after all. For the price don't expect 5 star luxury, but the food, staff and location are excellent . Other than that I really can't say much more, as it's just how we remembered it from 11 years ago. You'll find when talking to other guests many have been going there for years, and will be continuing to do so. Therefore for me that's testament enough, and we'll probably be returning ourselves, probably not leaving it so long next time.

Fabulous value for money, bring earplugs and enjoy!

+ My partner and I booked a last minute holiday here and it was good! The rooms were small but clean, the pool are also small but clean and never any problems getting a lounger. The air con in the room and the fridge was good. Bring your own shampoo and shower gel as you do only get a little sachet that lasts one wash per person and a bar of soap but there are plenty of shops nearby to pick some up. The towels are a bit small and don't dry very well also, not very absorbent. The sports bar below is very loud but reading the reviews we were well warned about that and I brought earplugs and it was no bother so as long as you're prepared you can avoid being disturbed hopefully. Didn't hear any noise from the rooms beside us either, all you can hear are chairs moving across the floor when the cleaners are in but no talking noises etc. We had breakfast every day - the food was nice, the usual selection you would expect and it was tasty. We had dinner twice- at €15 per person can't complain - small selection of main meals but the food was nice. There are lots of resteraunts and cafes around also. The reception staff were nice and the WiFi was good. There is air con in the room which is great but there was also a ceiling fan - we had no information on how to use this but didn't need to find out as the aircon was enough. They have a small luggage room for storing luggage when you check out but it only fits about 4 cases so be warned if it's busy. Honestly for a 1* hotel it was much better than I expected. Only a couple of minutes walk to a stoney beach with lots of snorkelling areas or a 15min walk to a sandy beach.

value for money

+ solo traveller stayed in room 325 that's at the back of the hotel and it was lovely quiet not like the front very loud....... staff very friendly spoke good English front desk always someone there....... menu fantastic one thing stuck out clear away your own dishes i thought this was a good thing not having some one hover over you........ drink price ever good 3.40 for a pint of beer.....over all the hotel sur 2* should be 3*..... be a wear on your guard out side the hotel there is a cycle lane it runs the full length off cala bona to cala millor..... the beach there's no quiet part but still you cant have everything....... oh the rooms don't have kettles.....and watch out for people trying to sell you things there is a by law its you that gets fined........over all my experience of cala bona was very good and YES i would go again..........

A great place to stay if on a budget in Cala Bona!

Perfect for a no fuss mini break

+ Perfect hotel. For no fuss but very clean. Cleaners everyday. Great staff. Great craic at night.. Fridge in the room.. Air conditioning worked a treat... Building site next door. That could annoy most travellers but didn't bother us too much.. All in all.. No fuss hotel and very reasonable... If you enjoy more up market hotels then I would recommend to stay elsewhere but for 5 days away it was the perfect location.. Thank you Hotel Sur..

Lovely Hotel, however shame about the extremely loud music from the Sports Bar below until midnight every night.

+ Great location and very clean Hotel. Originally thought it should be rated a 3 star as opposed to a 2 star, however the reason it probably isn’t is because of the extremely loud noisy Sports Bar below it. The loud music starts at 15:30 & goes on until midnight every single night. I even felt sorry for the 4 Star Hotel Guests opposite, who had to endure this while sitting on their balconies in the evenings.

Excellent again!

+ Just returned from another fantastic week at hotel sur. It's our 4th time here and the value for money is excellent. Room basic with air con and fridge - what more do you need. Hired an iron for 5 days 10 euros. Pool lovely as always and great to see the same faces on our favourite week in July. Entertainment fantastic as always. Location is perfect. Had the most wonderful honeymoon in cala bona surrounded by wonderful people! We were aware of the building work next door before arrival and as a couple that work outside on the tools it didn't affect us.

Great time in a well located, lovely clean hotel, with hard working staff and great breakfasts

+ Went as as a group of 4 girls (ok maybe a bit older!). We were advised of building work next door but it didn’t bother us. Room was lovely for a street view. You get morning sun. A little tight for space so you may walk into the bed frames, but, this is a 2 star hotel in an amazing hotel, that puts on entertainment at night, fantastic breakfasts, really clean, hardworking staff. Honestly, the chances of 4 of us all agreeing on how good somewhere is proves the quality of this hotel. I think we may be back. The only thing we found difficult was the pool area, not that we wanted to be there much but it did seem a bit compact and sadly beds reserved….need I say more….how do you lovely Spanish hoteliers tolerate….

Great family run hotel 😁

+ Just had a fantastic week alone in the hotel, its a fanstic family run hotel from the moment I arrived the night porter was welcoming and helpful. You get a good feeling of comfort from both the rooms and the staff. The bar has a good atmosphere all day and night great table service. Also the pool bar is very convenient and with the huge supermarket next door providing everything you would need at a reasonable price. Already looking forward to going back in September.

Good for a base

+ So, let’s start with the positives, the rooms are spotless and cleaned every day (except Sunday) clean towels etc. leave you some sachets of shower gel & soap in the bathroom. Rooms are quite small with no coffee/tea making. There is a fridge but even at the highest setting it didn’t chill anything. The staff were friendly but mainly only saw the reception ones. So, the hotel I believe has 102 rooms. For a hotel this size, the pool was way too small and nowhere near enough sunbeds (I counted 41). The beds have towels put on them from silly o’clock in the morning so you have little chance of getting anywhere near them so we ended up going to the beach and having to pay for a bed there. We went half board but really wish we’d only done b&b as the evening food was just not what you’d expect from a hotel in Spain, being vegetarian there was nothing for me (unless I wanted to eat green beans and chips) so we ended up having to eat out every evening at a further cost. It’s a bit like a canteen and you have to clear your own table/plates at the end of your meal. We had a pool facing room with a small balcony as had read it was quieter with the bar being underneath, we could still hear the music but didn’t really affect us, however the noise from people returning to their rooms was super noisy (but on holiday so that’s not so bad) It’s super close to shops/restaurants and a couple of bars. The beach around 5 mins away is beautiful and the sea is warm and clear. Cala Millor is about a 25 mins walk and much busier with a bigger beach but way more packed with people. If you’re looking for a hotel to just use as a base it’s okay and in a great spot for a quiet relaxing holiday. Would I return, not too sure but still had an amazing break.

Fun Hotel, good location. More like a 3* than 2* !Comes with AC.

+ Friendly staff. Clean room and bathroom. Sofa, fridge and balcony in afternoon sun overlooking pool. Buffet breakfast was extensive and fresh. Dinner nicely cooked but a limited and fairly “safe/plain” offering. Pool was warm and small. Most sunbeds taken by 0900 but generally become available again around 1400 as sun beats down . Erica running the pool bar until 1630 was friendly and nothing too much trouble. Smallish but warm/serviceable pool. Great location for restaurants , harbour and local beach. Busier and much larger Cala Millor around 15 mins walk . Live music and good entertainment each night until midnight. Was loud but engaging for us. If you like an early night you will defo need a pool view room ( not street view) and might not like it. We had a great long weekend.

Spot on

+ Don’t listen to negative reviews. Clean and friendly. Pool is clean and warm. Cleaners in daily. If you have an issue raise it at reception asap then it can be addressed. It is very hot at this time of year in fact unusually hot. Pool shoes required for the beach. Grass beside the pool is very hot. Sunbeds at beach €14 but very rocky in the sea. Nice beach further down approx 15 min walk. Next resort the same place. Plenty places to eat and drink. Lots of shops. Plenty of entertainment on at this hotel each night. Other hotels also have entertainment on. Plenty of bike & mobility scooters shops around to rent a bike daily. If in doubt ask at reception. The staff here could not be any nicer. Safe is €2 per day. Room extension €20. You can hire a kettle as only a fridge in the room. Air con is FREE & works a treat. Definitely return.

Just what you need

+ Honestly this place is spot on. Clean central & cheap. Rooms cleaned daily with towel changes. Reception open 24/7. Supermarket directly outside is definitely the cheapest around & has every thing you need. Taxes €39 for 9 nights. Safe hire €2 daily. Pool is clean and warm. Best get down early for a sunbed though. Plenty choice of food & drink. Very reasonable. Great entertainment on an evening. Any thing you need ask reception and they will accommodate you if possible. Staff very friendly especially the cleaners reception and the young lady at the snack shack out by the pool. Don’t listen to other silly reviews knocking it. The rating should be higher. There is a lift. On site gym. I hired a mobility scooter from across the street for €20 a day & stored it in reception. Personally I would remove the tennis courts and install more sun beds and maybe another pool.We stayed on the front 4th floor street facing. Music till 11pm then quiet. Good to people watch and dance on your balcony. The back of the hotel by the tennis courts is quiet. Fridge in your room. The room looked brand new with new shower cubicle. Definitely need foot wear for near the pool as the grass gets red hot. There was building work going on next door but was not impactive. Lots of places to eat drink and shop. Beach is 2 mins walk but sun beds are €14. You will need pool shoes as the beach there is shingle and rocks in the sea. Further down Cala millor beach is white sand and no rocks in sight. It’s a good 10 mins brisk walk to get there- right as you come out the hotel. Left takes you to the harbour. Cala millor is full of shops restaurants bars etc. much more busier. You can hire a kettle here. There are plenty toilet rolls and toiletries- you can request more. Don’t expect the ritz because it’s not. It is what it is and it’s great for your holidays. We throughly enjoyed and would definitely return.

A decent hotel well located

+ Although this was rated as 2☆ i had seen previous reviews on trip advisor prior to booking that it was better than a 2☆ and i have to agree. As a solo traveller i had a single room. It was compact but decent size with a double bed and a good walk in shower. Maids every day with change of towels ( except sunday - maids day off). I opted for half board. Meals were buffet style & the breakfast had a decent choice of hot, cold & pastries. The coffee however was not very nice & ended up buying coffee in the upstairs bar ( i did bring this to the attention of reception). The evening food i wasn't keen on & after the 3rd night & tasteless dry spaghetti carbonara, i then ate out. Also you had to clear your own plates away & it gave me a bit of a canteen vibe. The hotel was well located in cala bona with the marina 5 mins walk & cala millor a good 10 mins. Bar entertainment every evening & was a popular bar to drink in. Staff were friendly. Small pool but the temperature was perfect. No sharp intake of breath when you go in. The pool stairs need some attention though as they were a bit abrasive. There is a spacious lounge area 1 flight up from reception which i found by accident. Unfortunately building work next door & the drilling was annoying! There were quite a few of single lady travellers staying which was good to see. All in all i thought it was a decent hotel. Yes, there is room for improvement but i would stay again if i went to the area.

Great wee hotel

+ Was expecting budget as that's what I paid for, a 2 star that deserves more. Bed comfortable plenty hot water good shower, room cleaned every day except Sundays. Cleaners were friendly and did a great job. Pool was fine, plenty sun loungers available throughout day. Staff were friendly always with a smile on face and a welcome hello. Didn't eat at hotel but did use the sports bar a few nights staff worked hard and always welcoming. Entertainment nightly from 9.15 to 12am. I had a room at back so didn't hear it in room and the sun was on balcony in evening which was lovely. Did hear guests returning to rooms, through the night after a few drinks but that's what holidays are for didnt bother me but if light sleeper take some ear plugs dont let it put you off staying. Take a kettle for room, air con supplied no extra which is great and big plus for me no extra charges for it. Would i recommend definitely would I stay again definitely. Great place for a laugh and a drink

+ we only ever visit this hotel for drinks and entertainment or to watch sports and have visitors on many occasion. the staff always recognise us and are extremely friendly and drinks are cheap. a cracking night out to be had at the Sur and well worth a visit.

Lovely break

+ The Hotel Sur may only hold a 2-star certification, but do not let that put you off. I am presently on my last day here and I have been pleasantly surprised by the standard of this establishment. I have been in 3 and 4-star accommodation which couldn't match the Sur in many respects. My first encounter with the exceptional staff, apart from at check-in, was upon returning to my room to find my key card wouldn't work. This was rectified immediately. My second encounter was when I locked myself out on my balcony! My fault. The lady on the next balcony contacted reception and I was "freed" pronto. Encounter number 3 was when I pressed the toilet flush and it decided to stay put. A new one was put in within minutes of my bringing it to the hotel's attention. So full marks to everyone on the staff for their assistance - all with a smile. My room overlooked the pool and, as a single traveller, had ample space for my clothes. The 6 or 7 hangers provided sufficed. A free fridge in the room was an added bonus, as was the free air conditioning, although the safe was a couple of Euros per day, plus deposit. A good shower, always with plenty of hot water. No kettle, but I brought my own. Cleaners came every day, apart from Sundays. Room cleaned, beds made and towels changed on a daily basis. The hotel bar next to the entrance and looking on to the street has live music every evening and seemed a popular venue. I went room only, so I cannot comment on the restaurant or the food. All in all, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel in the beautiful Cala Bona. A short stroll takes you into Cala Millor with its nice beach and more shops and restaurants. Would I go back? Most definitely.

Would I stay here again ????

+ Yes most definitely, the hotel has two stars over the door before you enter, I would give it 10 stars for the welcome we received, this is a family run hotel and the guest relations is second to none, nothing is too much trouble you will be greeted like family, we had room 318, yes the hotel is basic but our room was spotlessly clean, bring Travel kettle and iron or hire them at reception, you have a mini fridge in the room, whilst the rooms are not massive we had plenty of room for two, stored cases between vanity desk and patio doors, we had a partial sea view over looking the Main Street and bar, whilst could be noisy with entertainment it did not bother us, there is an extensive library and quiet room I left the books I read for others to enjoy, we were half board, very chilled at breakfast with everything you could want toast,coffee,juices,full English sausage amazing plus ham cheese etc,pastries fruits cereal and yoghurts ,great selection,evening meal selection,chicken,pork or fish ,spaghetti Bol,spaghetti carbonara,chips,mash and wedges etc would have liked to have seen more rice but that is totally personal partner does not like any form of potato he still managed to fill himself up so all good, great deserts, bar prices great 2euro small beer,coffee,tea £5.90 for double captain Morgan and coke,live entertainment every night and all the football matches screened. All in all an amazing relaxing chilled out holiday,loved every minute so thank you hotelSur :) Just an aside, construction work is taking place next door and been told ongoing til October, whilst we shut off the noise whilst by the pool you might want to bring ear plugs,the pool area is very chilled the hotel also does bar snacks, toasties,fries etc very reasonable. Transfer time is nearer 2hours or just over as in our case so if you have little ones make sure you take them to the toilet before you board your transfer coach as no toilets on board. 5* welcome awaits you

+ I travel tomorrow to the Hotel Sur for a 10 day break. I have been many times and go usually as a solo traveler. I'm always lucky to meet some lovely guests who help make my stays extra special. This hotel is amazing and the staff are outstanding. They are polite, helpful and extremely friendly. Every time i arrive i am greeted as a friend and made to feel very welcome. The position of the hotel is great only 5 minutes from the beautiful harbor and also the beach. The food is lovely with all you could need. The rooms are clean and spotless and the housekeeping staff attend everyday except Sunday. Nothing is too much trouble. The pool area is lovely and sunbeds are usually available all day in my experience. The nightly entertainment is second to none and popular with guests and visitors alike. The Bar also show sport all day and night for all those sports fans like myself. I would recommend the Hotel Sur 100% for location, cleanliness and value for money. Another Sur per holiday

+ I ABSOLUTELY love this hotel!!! Every time I come I get treated as family, as I am sure are most guests!! I left a little tip in my room for housekeeping. The room was nice and clean every day and from my experience at work it’s not a nice job!!!!!! THE bar staff……muy bien… left them a good tip then the boss came over to say no too much!!!!! I told the boss her staff are great and she should be proud…..and they brought me a pint!!!! Hotel sur ❤️❤️❤️❤️ see you next year… mucahs gracias

Much better than star rating suggests

+ Definitely underrated. This hotel is much better than its star rating suggests. The rooms are on the small side but everything else makes up for it. The beds are comfortable, nice linen, air conditioning and a fridge. There was a balcony with furniture. The hotel is clean and nicely presented. Breakfast was buffet service and offered all the usual food and drink, which was fresh and hot. There is a nice pool with a bar and plenty of sun beds. There is also a bar that serves food, has sports tv and live entertainment. The staff were all pleasant, polite and extremely helpful. Enjoyed our stay and the facilities. Definitely recommend.

+ We are hear at the moment we have found no fault what so ever rooms clean and the beds are the comfy we are bed and breakfast they are amazing all English the staff and cleaners are excellent highly recommended the rooms are lovely we are on the front best place is the front the entertainment is good this is are 2nd time hear how it got to be a 2 star I never no

Lovely hotel, horrible woman

+ The hotel was spot on, very nice and clean, comfy beds so slept well every night, free air con and pool view can't ask for much more really. Pool area was nice and clean, pool a bit dirty though and can't be cleaned often as all my swim wear and towels etc turned green after 1 day of been in there. The lady with glasses and blonde hair on reception was lovely, very helpful and kind. However, young male receptionist and woman with red braided hair, mainly saw her in the kitchen / eating area, extremely rude! Horrible woman who quite clearly was talking bad about me, I can't speak Spanish but it's very obvious when someone is talking about you. Disgusting, it's giving JEALOUS. Because she had absolutely no reason to be as awful as she was every time she saw me. I was with my child and my Nan, what could I of possibly been doing to be made that uncomfortable, talking about me and giving me awful looks. Get over yourself! The staff in the bar didn't wanna know you, polite because they had to be but didn't want to know. Apart from the bald guy who was lovely. There was also a man called ibrahim a waiter there, lovely man, was very good and kind with my daughter but it became a bit intense when he was asking my child to go to the shop with him, bringing 2-3 ice creams and drinks at a time constantly, picking her up and kissing her cheeks and then eventually started asking me to go out with him, bad intentions really. Overall it was a nice hotel and a lovely area, that woman is the reason why I wouldn't go back there, and ibrahim just tone it down a bit you'll find your English wife out there somewhere, but not me tho.

Pleasant stay

+ Just returned from the Hotel Sur and have to say we had a pleasant stay. We were there for 4 nights bed and breakfast. The rooms were clean quiet and comfortable. There was maid service every day except on Sunday. The air con was at no extra cost. Breakfast was very nice with a cooked or continental choice and the usual pastries. Tea and coffee machine was good, nice and hot drinks. The pool area was clean with enough sun beds. The staff were very friendly so overall a pleasant stay and we would return.

Cheap & cheerful

+ Book 5 nights for me and my 12 year old daughter, I wasn’t expecting 5 star luxury as it was a cheap holiday, I was pleasantly surprised! The rooms are basic but clean, the pool was small but quiet and could always get a sun bed, great location for the beach, shops and restaurants, Cala Millor just a short walk, the entertainment was fab, the breakfast and evening meals were great, my fussy eater loved the lasagne and the cottage pie, I would definitely return for the price :)

A wee gem of a hotel!

+ What can I say! An absolute gem of a hotel. From the moment Christina welcomes you at reception, absolutely everything is amazing. As a solo traveller,I felt so safe and so well looked after. I stayed half board and the breakfasts were delicious, you name it they had it. The Evening meals were also lovely. Salads, main courses, always included a Spanish dish every evening, and deserts to die for! Single room was actually a double room for single use and most looked over the pool. Fabulous air con!! No noise whatsoever! No rush for sunbeds either, plenty available at whatever time of day! The staff were brilliant, so friendly. Had a ball, thank you Hotel Sur for a lovely wee break xx

Great solo stort break in Cala Bona

+ Had a short solo break at Hotel Sur at the very end of July. I chose the hotel because of its convenient location, and good price, and I was very happy with my stay here. The single occupancy rooms are at the back of the hotel, so overlooking the pool area, and away from any noise from the bar at night (which wasn't bad anyway). The room is a great size for 1 person, with very effective air con, and a small but decent little balcony which, being at the back, got the afternoon sun and sunset every day. I stayed B&B, which was only a few euros extra, and is definitely worth it, consisting of fruit, pastries, cereal, cooked items, coffee, and juice. I rented a bike for the duration of my stay, and one great feature of the hotel is that they have an indoor bike storage area with secure locking posts just at the side of reception. This allows you to bring the bike into the hotel and securely store it overnight without worrying it will be stolen. Cala Bona and Cala Millor are really well suited to bike riding, so this was a really good idea by the hotel, and I'm surprised they don't list it as a feature on their website/listings. The guests at the hotel seem to be mainly if not all British, which I won't comment on other than to say everyone seemed well behaved, bar some selfish late night loud talking while walking back to rooms. All the staff I spoke with while there were very nice, and welcoming. This was my first time in Cala Bona, and I would definitely go back, and also stay at this hotel again. Well done Hotel Sur!

Can't wait to return!

+ Well it was our 2nd visit and while we were there we booked our 3rd! The beauty of this family hotel is you get the same people around the pool on the same week each year which adds to the family vibe. The rooms are basic and clean with an added bonus of a fridge. The cleaners do a fantastic job. The hotel has a shop next door which is well stocked and clean. The entertainment is great and the staff are friendly. Can't wait to return for round 3! I can see myself returning for many years to come.
