Mambo Tango

+ Loved this place! Sweet people. Helpful staff. I loved the neighborhood with it's architecture, tapas, wide range of price options. Easy to get taxis, too. AC was great; we actually got a little too cold and agreed to shut it off. I stayed in Room 3, all women, and everyone was respectful and kind. It’s a low-cost hostel so keep your expectations realistic. But if you just need a bed to sleep in while you explore Barcelona, and save your money for food and fun, this is a great place.

+ Staff was very friendly and answered all our questions and also gave good local suggestions. It was my boyfriend’s first hostel expense and he was pleased.

+ The hostel location is great to the none-touristy areas very local eateries, bars and close enough to the other "touristy" things you can or have to do. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Plus, the room have air conditioning (AC) which is awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Needs basic upgrades, find private room elsewhere

+ Negatives: Bathroom ceiling tiles have mold, there are no full length mirrors in the private rooms, internet is very slow, no hooks on door or wall to hang towels in private rooms, hallways are VERY humid with no fans in the bathrooms for shower, there are a LOT of steep stairs. They don’t participate in any typical hostel actives (eg family dinners, bar crawl, walking tours etc) or help you find them. Positives: it’s near the metro, plenty of people on the street (even late at night), good tapas across the street, discount codes for all the local attractions in the lobby, free (bad) coffee 24/7, occasional fruit offered at breakfast was so nice to have as a snack (they should ditch the bad muffins & pastry and stick to oranges, bananas, and toast). Good kitchens—very clean! The dorm rooms looked nice and we would return to them in a group because the prices here are low compared to other spots. But we wouldn’t do a private room here again.

+ It might not be for everyone, because it's not a hotel, but a hostel, so you need to know that you will share bathroom and other facilities (even if you have your own room, which I did). You will probably also need to climb stairs, so, if you have a problem with that, you need to alert them in advance. That said, you are getting what you paid for, so, if you're working on a tight budget, this is great. It's a short walk from the nearest Metro, there are several nice restaurants and take-aways in the area, it was mostly quiet (it's a hostel, remember), and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

+ It was a very convenient location. Super close to everything. Bars, restaurants, and a concert venue all in walking distance. The free coffee, and breakfast and water were super nice and for a hostel has a lot of showers and bathrooms. Even a terrace. Most of the staff were super helpful too.

+ Mon séjour au Mambo Tango s'est très bien déroulé. Equipe accueillante et disponible. Bien situé et proche des transports. Le lieu et propre et possède tout le nécessaire. Je recommande !

+ My stay was good. But in my view they should improve the conditions of their rooms for example put light in every bed. I would say also they have to do something about their toilet and bathroom to reduce the noise because from the room where I was I could hear the noise when people took shower or used the toilets.

+ Staff are nice. Location is all good. But the bed make loud noises. I have been bit by bed bug at one night. This was really lowered my points to the hostel. No light for each individual bed.

Basic hostel

+ The hostel is basic and outdated. Location is good. Apart of that nothing special to say.

+ Leider achtet das Personal nicht auf die Ruhezeiten. Im Mehrbettzimmer war an Nachtruhe nicht zu denken. Ansonsten gepflegter Zustand.

+ Good though quit basic. it's clean. the staff is nice.The location is excellent. Better go outside for breakfast. Going away from the Parallel and into the neighborhood you would find very nice local shops and restaurants.

+ O único ponto positivo é a localização. As camas são ruins, a limpeza é precária e o café da manhã é servido na recepção.

+ In the heart of Gothic Quarter. We had some wifi issues because we were in the room in the back and we kind of felt abandoned, but overall it was a decent place to stay at.

2-night stay

+ An easy and straightforward check-in. The room was cool, silent, and easy to sleep in. Lockers had their own lock so no need to bring your own lock. Would go again if visiting in the area.

Posizione interessante

+ Ambiente pulito, stanza da 8 confortevole e con armadietto personale con lucchetto, tutte le necessità per far doccia e lavarsi le mani servite Colazione un po’ scarsa, ma comunque presente con succi arancia, cereali,salato e latte. Zona centrale ottima per raggiungere a piedi tantissimi punti d’interesse, dal Montjuic, a piazza di Spagna, la Rambla, il porto, è tutta la zona del parallel Reception 24/24 7/7 Ristorantini e pub a 3/4’ a piedi giusto la via prima dell’ostello Direi che per chi viaggia solo o comunque tra amici e un’ottima soluzione per soggiornare a Barcellona

+ The staff is amazing. It is a clean place to stay. You have free coffe, tea, watter and apples available everyday. The room was cosy, except no windows (wel, it had a window but it was blocked by the hostel add outside of the building). The breakfast could be much better. Only cheese, ham, slices of bread, milk, coffe and cereals. Well, it does it job but you feel like something is missing, especially when you need to full you stomach before get out. But overall, it is a good place to stay one night. Clean, safe, good bath, and something to eat before you leave. Except for the price. I paid 68€ with no private bathroom. With less than that, Ive been in another big cities (like Madrid, Milan, or Lisbon) in much better condictions (private bathroom, much better breakfast, TV, double bed...). If we've paid less 30€, I'd give it 5 stars.

+ Great place with a helpfull and friendly staff! Would truely recommend this to others, although it is quite far to the beach but the public transport is just by the corner

+ very good in condition. Including breakfast. Absolutely beyond imagination. Room is clean. Also offer towel. The only disadvantage shall be that the storage of baggage is in basement. Other things are fine.
