Between the two, the local road connects them in about ten minutes by car, so it is not a drama to stay in one and go down to the other, but if you do not want to depend on the vehicle, better choose the beach.

To get there, the most common is to fly to Almería (about 80 kilometers) or to Murcia (about 120), and then rent a car; public transport to Mojácar is scarce and will not allow you to move freely. Within the municipality, the car is almost essential unless you stay on the first line of the beach and do not leave there. Before booking, check if the accommodation includes a parking space, because in the old town parking on the street is a ordeal, and also check if air conditioning is included in the price, something that in summer is non-negotiable.
