Hotels and places to stay in Capdepera

Capdepera is not a single place, and that shows in the accommodation offer. You have 116 options among villas, apartments, holiday homes, hotels and aparthotels, but the key is choosing the right area according to what you want to do. The historic centre, around the castle, is ideal if you are looking for village atmosphere, local restaurants and streets with character. From there, by car, you reach the coves in ten minutes, but do not expect a beach right outside your door. The Cala Ratjada area, on the other hand, is the most touristy and lively: port, seafront promenade, bars and urban beaches. If what you want is peace and nature, the residential developments between Capdepera and Canyamel, such as Font de Sa Cala or Canyamel, offer complexes with gardens and access to more sheltered coves, although you depend on a car for almost everything.

Prices vary quite a lot depending on the season and the type of accommodation. The average price is around 721 euros per night, but that is a misleading average because there are many luxury villas that push the number up. The cheapest you will find is 156 euros, and that is usually an apartment or a hotel room in low season. If you want your money to go further, look at May, June or September: the weather is still good for the beach and prices drop noticeably compared with July and August. Villas, which are the most abundant option (44 in total), work out better value if you travel as a group or as a family, because the cost per person is lower. Hotels and aparthotels, on the other hand, are easier to find with last-minute deals if you do not have fixed dates.

To get there, the most practical thing is to fly to Palma de Mallorca and rent a car at the airport. It is about 75 kilometres to Capdepera, with motorway as far as Manacor and then a secondary road; it will take you around an hour. Without a car, you have TIB buses from Palma, but they limit you a lot for getting around between coves and residential developments, so I do not recommend it if you want to make the most of the day. Before booking, look carefully at what the accommodation includes: in villas, for example, air conditioning or bed linen are sometimes paid for separately, and in apartments it is worth confirming whether there is parking or whether it is some distance away. Also check the cancellation policy, because in high season many establishments require advance payment or do not refund if you cancel at short notice. And be careful with the average 3.4-star rating: do not rely on the stars alone, read recent reviews about noise, cleanliness or the state of the facilities, because in this area there is everything, from very well-kept hotels to others that have aged badly.
