If you're looking at accommodation in Cazorla, the first thing you should know is that there are 183 options available, with an average price of 111 euros per night and the lowest at 57 euros. The offer is divided between apartments (85), holiday homes (75), hotels (17), guesthouses (3) and the occasional villa. The average category is around 3.4 stars, so don't expect great luxury, but you will find decent, well-located establishments.

The area where it suits you to stay depends on what you want to do. If you're looking for atmosphere, bars and restaurants close at hand, the old town of Cazorla is the most practical: steep streets, lively squares and everything just a few minutes' walk away. There you'll find examples such as El Callejón de Chimé or Casa Kalma, which tend to be in charming renovated buildings, although parking can be a headache. If you prefer peace and nature, the road climbing towards the Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas has more scattered country houses and apartments, such as Casa Los Patos or the Apartamentos Asador de la Plaza Vieja, which are closer to hiking routes and viewpoints, but will force you to take the car for almost everything. The main difference is that: in the town you have urban convenience, outside you have silence and direct access to the hills.

As for prices, high season (Semana Santa, long weekends and July-August) sends rates soaring, so if you can, travel in May, June or September: the weather is good and prices drop quite a bit. Weekdays are also cheaper than weekends. To get there, the usual way is by car: from Jaén capital it's about 90 minutes along a mountain road, and from Granada or Murcia you can also get there fine, but with curves. There is no train or airport nearby, so a car is almost essential, especially if you stay outside the town centre. Within the town, everything is done on foot, although the slopes are demanding.

Before booking, check three things: whether the accommodation has parking or facilities to park nearby, because in the centre it's complicated; whether the heating or air conditioning works well, because winter nights are cold and summer nights are hot; and whether the kitchen is fully equipped if you plan to cook meals, because many apartments are family-run and the services vary a lot. Also look at recent reviews about cleanliness and noise, and confirm whether the price includes taxes or cleaning surcharges, which sometimes don't appear at first glance.
