Hotels and places to stay in Chella

Chella is a small inland town in the province of Valencia, in the Canal de Navarrés region, which lives mainly from rural tourism and hiking routes to the Sellent river or the Tous reservoir. There is no large hotel offering here, but there are ten accommodations spread between holiday homes, villas and apartments, with an average price of 328 euros per night and a minimum rate of 192 euros. Most are entire houses, so it is best to come in a group or as a family so that the cost per person is reasonable.

As for the areas, the most practical thing is to stay in the urban centre of Chella, where most of the holiday homes are, such as CASA MANUELA or Casa La Posada de Chella. From there you can walk to the bars, the supermarket and the square, and you don't need a car for anything other than going out on the routes. If you prefer more peace and outdoor space, the villas are usually on the outskirts, on roads such as the Bolbaite road or towards the mountain, with larger plots and private pools. The main difference is that: in the town you gain convenience and atmosphere, on the outskirts you gain silence and nature, but you will have to take the car for any errand.

The price varies quite a bit depending on the season. The months of July and August, and long holiday weekends, are the most expensive and have the least availability. On the other hand, on weekdays from October to May you find deals that can drop below 200 euros per night, especially if you book two or three weeks in advance. Spring and autumn are the best times to come because the climate is mild and the trails are in good condition. To get there, the easiest way is to drive from Valencia on the A-7 to Xàtiva and then the CV-580; the journey takes about 50 minutes. There is also a bus from Valencia to Chella, but only two or three services a day, so it is not very flexible for getting around.

Before booking, check carefully whether the accommodation includes bed linen and towels, because in many rural houses they are paid for separately or you have to bring them. Also check whether the final cleaning is included in the price or is an extra charge, and whether the pool (when there is one) is open on the dates you are going. If you are travelling in a group, ask about the real number of beds and whether any is a sofa bed, because sometimes the listing says "capacity for 8" and then it is 4 bedrooms and a sofa. And if you are going to do routes, confirm whether there is space to leave the car on the property or whether you will have to park on the street.
