Hotels and places to stay in Cullera

Cullera has more than three hundred rental accommodations, and most of them are apartments. That already tells you where things are headed: here you come to live the beach, not to lock yourself in a hotel. The offer is concentrated in two very different areas. On one hand, the town center and the port, where you have restaurants, supermarkets and the seafront promenade at hand, but also more noise and more difficulty parking. On the other, the El Racó area and the cape, quieter and with small coves, ideal if you are looking for rest and don't mind taking the car to go to dinner. San Antonio beach, the longest and most family-friendly, is the middle point: many apartments with good views and direct access to the sand, although in July and August it gets crowded.

Prices vary quite a bit depending on the season. The average price is around 180 euros per night, but you can find options from 89 euros if you book in advance and outside summer weekends. June and September are the months with the best value for money: the water is good, there are fewer people and accommodations drop by up to thirty percent compared to August. If your dates are flexible, avoid the local festivities in July and the week of Fallas if you don't want to pay more.

Getting there is simple. From Valencia, you have the AP-7 motorway (exit 38) or the N-332 national road, which takes longer but has no toll. By train, the C-1 Cercanías line connects Valencia with Cullera in about forty minutes, and the station is about a twenty-minute walk from San Antonio beach. Once there, the most practical thing is to get around by car or bike, because the distances between the center, the port and the coves are short but on foot they become tiring with the heat. The urban bus runs in summer, but with limited frequencies.

Before booking, take a good look at the exact location of the accommodation and don't trust only the name of the beach. An apartment that says "sea views" may be on a third floor without an elevator or two streets from the sand. Also check if the price includes bed linen, towels and final cleaning, because in many apartments this is charged separately. And if you travel in high season, confirm if the accommodation has a garage space or if you will have to look for street parking, which in August is an odyssey. Lastly, check the cancellation conditions: in apartments they are usually stricter than in hotels, and some require paying a non-refundable deposit.
