Arrival in Sofia

   Panoramic tour of the capital of Bulgaria by bus and on foot with a local guide with an included visit to the Nevski Cathedral and National Museum of Archeology where the Golden Masks of the Thracian Kings are exhibited (tour availability depending on the time of the arrival flight).

Koprivshtitsa and Pavel Banya

   Visit Koprivshtitsa /2 hrs drive from Sofia/ – the heart of the Bulgarian Revival Period, where the April Uprising in 1876 led to the liberation of the country from the Ottoman empire two years later. At 1000 m high above sea level, this little town with curved and narrow cobblestone streets, has beautifully preserved 19th century historic homes with high stone walls with colorful facades. A walking tour with entrance to two of the most beautifully preserved houses – Oslekovata kashta and Kableshkovata kashta.

Thracian Tomb in Kazanlak

   On the way to Veliko Tarnovo, we will pass one of the most scenic roads on the Balkans - through the Shipka mountain pass where one of the most important battles for independence in Bulgaria's history took place. We will also visit the monument where every year on 3 March there is a grand ceremony for Bulgaria's National Liberation Day.
