Sofia Communist History 2-Hour Tour in a Classic Trabant

The tour is approximately 2 hours long and features an iconic classic car called a Trabant. The object of the tour is to take you back in time and make you feel what life was like for people living in Bulgaria during the communist era. Our focus is not to put you to sleep with statistics but rather show you what kind of challenges people had to deal with both during and after the communist times.

Itinerary

1. National Palace of Culture (NDK) · 10 min

   Talk about the significance of NDK and the 1300 year anniversary of the first Bulgarian state.

2. Museum of Socialist Art · 20 min

   Our guide will take you though the Museum and expand on the sculptures and artwork on display.

3. National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria · 10 min

   Our guide will walk you to the National Archives and go over how the secret police held a tight grip over the population.

4. National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria

   We will talk about the political developments that lead to the fall of Communism in 1989.
