The excursion

This 25-day private, chauffeur-guided tour covers Sri Lanka end to end, from the south-coast beaches and tea-country hills to the ancient cities of the north and the Cultural Triangle. It begins at Colombo airport and works south through Hikkaduwa, Galle and Mirissa, then on to Yala for a safari, up into the hill country at Ella and Nuwara Eliya, across to Kandy, through the Cultural Triangle sites of Dambulla, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa, north to Trincomalee and Jaffna, back down via Anuradhapura to Colombo, and finally to Negombo before departure. Along the way travellers take in Galle's Dutch fort, whale watching and a wildlife safari at Yala, Ella's Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak, the tea estates and waterfalls around Nuwara Eliya, Kandy's Temple of the Tooth and botanical gardens, the rock fortress of Sigiriya, the cave temples of Dambulla, the ruined cities of Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura, Trincomalee's beaches and Pigeon Island, and the Hindu temples and historic sites of Jaffna. The pace allows for both guided sightseeing and unstructured beach days. A chauffeur guide drives throughout and accompanies each visit, handling the logistics of a long, multi-region itinerary while travellers choose and book their own accommodation.
A 25-day private tour across Sri Lanka's beaches, hill country, wildlife parks and ancient cities, from Galle to Jaffna.
