The excursion

Hoi An families hang silk lanterns in front of their houses for luck, happiness and wealth. In this hands-on class an English-speaking local craftsman guides you through the eight steps of making your own: you choose the silk and its colour, glue and stretch it over the ready bamboo frame, trim it, finish the top and the base and add a tassel. At the end you learn how to fold the lantern so it fits in your luggage. No skills are needed and children from 3 years old can join. The class can be combined with a basket boat ride in the coconut forest.
