The excursion

A day excursion from Marrakech to experience the history of old southern Morocco. You will visit the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, home of the Gladiator film, and the Taourirt Kasbah in the centre of Ouarzazate. The Ksar of Ait Benhaddou rose to fame thanks to Orson Welles’ film Sodom and Gomorrah: a village of old fortified houses, now almost deserted, picturesquely set in the valley of the Assif Mellah on a former caravan route. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site where many movies were shot. Ouarzazate offers its famous film studios, the magnificent Taourirt Kasbah and its craft centre.
