The excursion

A day excursion from Marrakech to Imlil, in the heart of the Mizane valley and the main trailhead of the High Atlas. You drive about 90 minutes through the Moulay Brahim gorges, Tahnaoute and Asni (Saturday market), have mint tea in Imlil and walk 2 to 3 hours with a mountain guide through Berber villages, past waterfalls to Armed (1,843 m), with views of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Lunch in a Berber family home, then back to Imlil and Marrakech. Mule rides are possible.
