As for areas, the old town and the surroundings of the San Cristóbal promenade are the most convenient if you want to walk to the beach and bars. If you prefer peace and space, the Tesorillo area or the hills towards the San Cristóbal cliff offer houses and villas with views, but you need a vehicle to go down to the beach. The Hotel San Sebastián is right in the center, ideal for not depending on anything, while Casa Fina or the “PRECIOSO APARTAMENTO EN EL TESORILLO” are more residential options. The main difference is noise: the center is lively in summer, while the peripheral developments are quieter but force you to move by car.

Prices drop considerably outside July and August, especially in May, June, and September, when the weather is still good but demand falls. To get there, the most practical thing is to fly to Malaga or Granada and rent a car; from Malaga it is about 50 minutes via the Mediterranean motorway. Within the town, you can get around on foot if you stay in the center, but to go to the beaches of Peñón del Santo or Punta de la Mona you need a car or urban bus. Before booking, check if the accommodation includes parking (in the center it is a serious problem), if air conditioning is included in the price, and if the kitchen is well equipped, because many apartments are advertised with misleading photos. Also check the real distance to the beach on a map, do not rely only on the description, and look at recent reviews about nighttime noise, especially in the buildings on the promenade.
