Ingenio is a municipality in the southeast of Gran Canaria that usually goes unnoticed by mass tourism, and that is precisely what makes it interesting if you are looking for something quieter and with reasonable prices. Here you will find 51 accommodations, with an average price of 110 euros per night and the cheapest from 54 euros. The offer is divided between apartments (23), holiday homes (12), villas (12), guest houses (2), a resort and a bed and breakfast. The average category is around 3.4 stars, so don't expect great luxuries, but rather functional and well-connected stays.

As for areas, it is worth distinguishing three. The urban center of Ingenio is the most practical option if you want to have supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants at street level, and you are also close to the GC-1 highway to get around by car. The Carrizal area, next to the sea, is better if you prefer to walk along the coast and don't mind taking the car for almost everything, although there is a bus stop. And the rural area, towards the interior, with holiday homes and villas, gives you more tranquility and mountain views, but you definitely need a vehicle. The lowest prices usually appear in the apartments in the urban center and in the guest houses; villas with private pools are the ones that raise the average.

To get there, the Gran Canaria Airport is about ten minutes away by car, and in fact several accommodations advertise themselves as close to the airport, such as La Fonda Aeropuerto or Apartamentos cerca del Aeropuerto. If you don't rent a car, you have buses (lines 01, 05 and 41) that connect Ingenio with Las Palmas and with the airport, but the frequency drops in the afternoon. To get around the municipality, the most comfortable option is the car, especially if you stay in a villa or in the interior. Before booking, check carefully whether the price includes final cleaning, towels and wifi, because in holiday homes they usually charge it separately. Also check if there is a physical reception or it is a key delivery by lockbox, and if the accommodation has air conditioning, because in summer the nights can be hot. And if you travel in low season, from November to March, you will find offers below 70 euros, but avoid the Christmas and Carnival weeks, when they go up.
