The l’Ampolla beach, to the south, is quiet and sandy, and nearby accommodations tend to be apartments with sea views, ideal if you are not planning to rent a car. The inland area, toward the Pop valley or the Benissa road, is full of private villas with pools, such as Casa Lili or Ca Liberty; they are perfect for families or groups looking for silence, but you will definitely need a vehicle to go down to the beach or buy bread.

Prices drop notably outside July and August. In May, June and September you can find entire villas for less than 150 euros per night, while in the middle of high season the average price rises above 300. If your dates are flexible, aim for the second half of June or the first half of September: the water is already warm enough and the streets are not overcrowded. To get there, the easiest way is to fly to Alicante-Elche (about 90 kilometers away) or to Valencia (110). From both airports there are buses to Calpe or Benissa, and from there a taxi; but the usual thing is to rent a car, because Moraira has no train station and internal public transport is scarce. Within the town, if you stay in the old town or at the beach, you can get around on foot; to go to the northern coves (El Portet, Cap d’Or) or to neighboring towns, a car is essential.

Before booking, check three things. First, the exact location: many villas advertise “Moraira” but are a 15-minute drive away, in the municipality of Benissa or Teulada. Second, whether the price includes final cleaning, sheets and towels; in houses and apartments this is usually a supplement of 30 to 80 euros. Third, the cancellation policy: villas usually require a 30% non-refundable deposit, while apartments and hotels offer free cancellation up to a week before. With that clear, all that remains is to decide whether you prefer the bustle of the port or the calm of a villa with a pool.
