Noja is a small beach destination but with quite a lot of accommodation on offer: today alone there are 89 properties available on HotelsCasa, mostly apartments (61), followed by hotels (15) and a few guesthouses, holiday homes, resorts and villas. Most are concentrated in the town centre, just a few minutes' walk from the beaches of Trengandín and Ris, which are the two main ones. If you're looking for convenience when heading to the sand with children, or you don't want to take the car for everything, staying in the centre or in the Trengandín beach area is the most practical option: you have supermarkets, a pharmacy, bars and the seafront promenade nearby. The Ris beach area is somewhat quieter and more residential, with fewer services but more peace and quiet, and from there you can also walk to the centre in about ten minutes. If you prefer nature and don't mind driving, the outskirts towards the interior (towards Arnuero or the cliffs area) offer holiday homes and villas with more land, but you'll need a vehicle for everything.
As for prices, the minimum you'll find right now is 75 euros per night, and the average is around 139. Don't expect big discounts in July and August, which is when everything fills up and prices rise; if you can, May, June or September give you better value for money and the beaches are still very enjoyable, especially in September. To get there, the usual way is by car: from Santander it's about 40 minutes along the A-8 and then the regional road; there are also scheduled buses from Santander, but less frequently and they limit you when it comes to getting around the area. Once there, almost everything you need is in the town centre or less than two kilometres away, so you can walk or cycle; to go to Santoña, Berria or the Marismas Park, a car is almost essential.
Before booking, check carefully whether the accommodation includes a garage space or nearby parking, because in summer parking in the centre is difficult. Also check whether the final price includes cleaning or per-person supplements, which is common in apartments. And pay attention to the real distance to the beach: many listings say "5 minutes" and that could be on foot or by car; use the map on the website to check. Lastly, if you're travelling in high season, consider accommodation with flexible cancellation, because the weather on the coast can change your plans. Examples of what's available right now: Posada La Mies, BLUESEA Noja, la vivienda vieja cepa or Apartamentos La Reserva Classic Noja, each with its own style and location.
The average price is around 139 euros per night, and the lowest you can find right now is 75 euros. In low season or midweek it tends to be lower, while in August it comes close to or exceeds that average.
June and September are the ideal months: the water is already or still acceptable, there are fewer people and prices are lower than in July and August. May also works if you don't mind the water being cool.
If you want to walk everywhere, the centre or the Trengandín area are the most convenient. For peace and quiet and less noise, the Ris area or the outskirts towards the interior, although you'll need a car to get around there.
By car from Santander along the A-8 and then the regional road, about 40 minutes; there's also a bus from the capital, but it's infrequent. Within the town it's easy to walk, but for nearby beaches such as Berria or Santoña you need a vehicle.
Check whether the price includes cleaning, sheets or per-person supplements, and whether parking is available. In summer, prioritise bookings with free cancellation in case the weather or your plans change.
