Legends and Mysteries Trail

When night falls on Cuenca, its medieval alleys, ancient convents and hidden corners reveal a very different story than its monuments show during the day.

Along this route we will travel some of the most enigmatic places in the city as we discover tales of inquisitors, witches, secret tunnels, missing relics, ancient prophecies and unexplained events that for centuries have fueled the darkest legends of Cuenca.

The silent alleys of the historic center and ancient enclaves loaded with symbolism will serve as a setting for us to delve into stories about the Holy Grail, ancient rituals, mummies, apparitions and mysteries that still arouse unanswered questions today.

A different, enveloping and atmosphere filled experience to discover the most hidden and unknown face of one of the most mysterious cities in Spain.

Itinerary

1. Plaza Mayor

   We will discover the origin of some of the best-known legends of Cuenca and the mysteries that still surround the heart of the historic city.

2. Catedral De Cuenca

   We will learn about the stories, symbols and enigmas that have accompanied one of the most emblematic monuments of Cuenca for centuries.

3. Houses Colgadas

   We will contemplate the great symbol of Cuenca as we discover the curious histories and traditions that have emerged around this unique place.

4. We will stop by one of the most unique churches in Cuenca to learn about the legends and historical episodes that have marked this emblematic corner of the old town.

5. Ermita y Santuario de Nuestra Senora de las Angustias

   We will visit the surroundings of the Hermitage of Anguishes, a place deeply linked to the Conquense folk tradition and scene of ancient beliefs and stories transmitted for generations.

6. We will explore the spectacular surroundings of the sickle of Júcar as we discover ancient legends, surprising events and corners full of history and mystery.
