If you prefer something more authentic with less tourism, the historic center of Adeje, inland, gives you access to hiking trails and a more local atmosphere, although you'll need a car to get down to the coast. The Los Cristianos area, on the border with Arona, is practical if you come without a vehicle, because it has a bus station and frequent connections.
