Blanes has 218 accommodations on our platform, with an average price of 174 euros per night and the cheapest from 47. The offer is divided between apartments (154), villas (29), holiday homes (12), hotels (11), guesthouses (5) and aparthotels (3). The average category is 3.3 stars, so you'll find functional options rather than luxurious ones, unless you're specifically looking for a high-end villa. To choose well, first think about what you want to do: if your plan is beach and strolling, the center and the marina leave everything within walking distance; if you're looking for tranquility, the residential areas in the northern part, such as Santa Cristina or Cala Sant Francesc, are quieter but you'll need a car to go down to shop or have dinner.
The southern area, towards Lloret, is livelier and has more services, but also noisier in high season. The old town, around the church of Santa Maria, has charm and is close to the promenade, although the apartments there tend to be old and without a lift. If you come in July or August, prices rise and it's advisable to book months in advance; in May, June or September you find the same flat for considerably less, and the water is still fine. To get there, there's a commuter train from Barcelona (R1) that stops in Blanes, and a direct bus from the Fabra i Puig station; once there, walking or taking the local bus you get around well, but to go to secluded coves or mountain villas you need your own vehicle.
Before booking, check whether the accommodation includes air conditioning (in August it's appreciated), whether the kitchen is equipped for cooking (many apartments only have a microwave) and whether the final price adds cleaning or tourist taxes. Also check the photos of the bathrooms, which tend to be the weak point, and read recent comments about noise or damp. Real examples you can find are the LG Plaza Merida, central and practical; the Hostal Regina, simple and well located; the Hotel Horitzó by Pierre & Vacances, with a pool and a few more services; or the Hostal Isabel, affordable for short stays. With that, you choose wisely.
From May to mid-June and during September. Outside July and August, prices drop notably and you can still swim in good weather. October is also cheap, but the water is already colder.
The center, between the train station and the promenade, is the most practical. You have supermarkets, restaurants and the beach less than ten minutes' walk away. The northern residential areas or the mountain villas will force you to depend on taxis or infrequent buses.
By commuter train (line R1) from Barcelona, it takes about 70 minutes and leaves you a 15-minute walk from the center. From the airport, take the bus to Barcelona Sants and then the train; by car, along the C-32, it takes around an hour.
Most apartments and houses ask for a 30% advance payment and free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival. Hotels usually allow cancellation up to 48 hours before, but some don't refund if you cancel in high season. Always check the fine print before confirming.
It depends on what you're looking for: if you want a pool, reception and breakfast, a hotel like the Horitzó gives you comfort without worrying about anything. If you prefer space, a kitchen and a washing machine for long stays, an apartment works out more cost-effective for you. For couples or short getaways, a central guesthouse like the Regina or the Isabel is enough and cheaper.
